What is happening in a school near you. Sunday, July 02, 2006. And so to potatoes. Unable to harvest the potato crop on the longest, wettest most miserable midsummer's day- I have taken the liberty of harvesting the crop after school is out for Summer. The tatties registered 1.25kg on my kitchen scales and as there is no school we shall have them for tea. The orchard is looking fantastic and the new seating is brilliant. I especially like the toadstool seats! To see what I get up to in the coming months.

http://tales-from-tighnabruaich.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html

What is happening in a school near you. Wednesday, April 26, 2006. The best laid plans. In this way I introduced our blog- a web diary to the whole school, with projector- here endeth the lesson. One of my colleagues noticed one pupil in my class who sat mouthing proudly, "our blog, our blog".while their teacher muttered something alliterative. Posted by Morag Macdonald @ 8:56 pm. What is happening in a school near you. Friday, June 09, 2006. So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye! Well that's it. 22 years and I still haven't put on a production of The Sound of Music. The sun shone as the orienteering teams from all the Cowal schools took part in the annual competition arranged by our PE specialist Fiona McLean. Tighnabruaich won the event so well done. Shinty needs a mention- Kyles beat Inveraray and are through to the next round of the Camanachd Cup. Kyles Juniors are t...

What is happening in a school near you. Tuesday, March 28, 2006. Exciting times for teachers, children and bears! On Monday morning all of my class wrote from Campbell's perspective about his experiences thus far. In pairs the children then supported one another as they typed their entries onto the blog. Of course it is time consuming, but an aspect of education that will make a welcome return with the Curriculum For Excellence. Posted by Morag Macdonald @ 6:25 pm. Saturday, March 25, 2006. What is happening in a school near you. Wednesday, May 31, 2006. At last I have had over a 1000 hits on my blog! The life and times of an elderly educationalist in a technological age. Monday, April 24, 2006. Blogger's been down.aaahhhh! So it is not apparently publishing comments. Anyway further to my last posting.I'd had a conversation by email, with Lynne Horn who just posts her sound files like any other file to the tobermoryhs blog.so thought I'd give it a try. Chancer.you might say. Well yes, if there were an easy route so that I could have the children do their own! Advice would be good! Question to class&#4...

Sunday, October 15, 2006. Click on the box above for a link to the film the children made. This teddy blog was done with last year's class who still retain an interest. So before the SETT conference I pulled out the camera and asked them what if anything, they learned from what we did. I have edited nothing. There was no script. They decided the order, and said what they did completely 'off the cuff'. Give the children the tools and they will produce the goods! Posted by Marlynmo at 11:50 pm.

The life and times of an elderly educationalist in a technological age. Monday, February 27, 2006. And what did you do in school today? After break we talked about why using the board and the pods was better than the blackboard, and in this all were agreed. The lesson was conjunctions.so they had to think of two things and write the sentences and join them. So we did this in Comiclife on the board, dragging with the stylus and putting the comments into a bubble, on their own photograph. So I expect they ...
