Tales from the Cellar

Tales from the Cellar. The craft, obsession, anguish, and joy of low-budget filmmaking. Tuesday, April 15, 2014. I Finally Solved the Battery Drain Problem on My Android Phone. It's no secret that some Android devices have issues with battery life- at least if you actually use them. I have a Galaxy S3, and in the last few months, I've had major drain in battery even when I'm not using the phone. A friend of mine chose to get a higher-capacity battery. These apps help, but there was something else going on.

Tales from the Cellar: Monster Planet FX

http://www.talesfromthecellar.com/p/monster-planet-fx.html

Tales from the Cellar. The craft, obsession, anguish, and joy of low-budget filmmaking. These are samples of FX I worked on for our sci-fi parody, Monster Planet. These shots were created around 2000, when I began learning the CGI craft. I mostly used Lightwave and After Effects, with a little Vue D'esprit thrown in for some landscaping. As I look at them now, they are definitely showing their age. From Sketch to Screen. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Computer Generated Imagery (CGI).

Tales from the Cellar: Print Work

http://www.talesfromthecellar.com/p/print-work.html

Tales from the Cellar. The craft, obsession, anguish, and joy of low-budget filmmaking. Here are some DVD covers and posters I've done for various film projects. I did this cover for a Fiend DVD release back in around 2004. Don really liked it and submitted it to the distributer, but the distributer wanted to do one himself. I personally like this one better because it looked more serious and creepy. The final release was way too retro 60s for my taste. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Projects from the Cellar.

Tales from the Cellar. The craft, obsession, anguish, and joy of low-budget filmmaking. How To: Create a Quick and Dirty Vampire Death. This video was included as part of the behind the scenes segment of the Stakes. DVD When I signed on to work on Stakes, the rest of the behind the scenes was already put together, but Don asked if I would add something. This is what I came up with. It was my first attempt at a behind the scenes segment, and it's a little clunky, but it gets the point across.

http://tamerlin.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Read tales of my exploits and experiences on the long road to becoming a photographer. Saturday, January 17, 2009. It has been much too long since my last post. I haven't been doing as much landscape photography lately either, so it was about high time I did some. I had planned on doing the Boulder River hike today, but it's not accessible right now; apparently not many of the Darrington area hikes are. So instead, plan B became a trip to Orcas Island. It seemed like a promising start. The layer of cloud...

On our July 4th weekend, my friend Eve and I headed for the Olympics. We stopped at the Staircase ranger station to pick up our back country pass and a bear cannister, then headed to the Hamma Hamma road and continued until we reached the washout. From there, we walked to the Putvin trailhead. When the trail reaches the top of the valley wall, it gets a bit steep. Wasn't mo...

Read tales of my exploits and experiences on the long road to becoming a photographer. Monday, September 7, 2009. The Road to Asgard continues. In case you missed them, you can find part one here. And part two here. That evening, the wind started blowing across Lake Viviane, and the temperature dropped. We slept fitfully with the gale flapping our tents, and rattling the branches. Some mountain goats explored our camp site during the night, but they didn't bother us. The wind continued to buffet us, but ...
