Hoodie: April 2009

http://talesfromthehoodie.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 20, 2009. My husband considers himself a lucky guy when he sends me to RedBox to pick out a movie and I come home with Hellboy II. I don't tell him it's because it's 7 PM on a Saturday night and the good stuff was taken and everything else was either college raunch or kiddie cheese. Besides, as with most fiction, I can usually always find something redemptive in a fantasy film. I'm dorky like that. My husband started laughing. "After all the stuff that has happened. Seems incredible to you?

Hoodie: The World Keeps On Spinning

http://talesfromthehoodie.blogspot.com/2009/08/world-keeps-on-spinning.html

Tuesday, August 4, 2009. The World Keeps On Spinning. I was just doing a bit of blog-surfing (a habit that has slipped significantly), just checking up on people, sniffing around. I got on Jaye's blog and watched the first half hour of her little interview thingy. 1. I feel cool just knowing her. 2. She seems like the kind of person you want to chat into the AM hours with. 3. I realized just how little I know about the process of getting published. I have always wanted to be a writer. I have always w...

Hoodie: May 2009

http://talesfromthehoodie.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 7, 2009. I consider myself a tad over mediocre in the creativity department, but drawing and painting have never been my strong. So I decided to try my hand and see if I could possibly come up with something myself that didn't completely suck. Remember, I don't normally draw particularly well. I sketched this in pencil and utilized my eraser A LOT. It took me about 3 hours, including the family name which I cropped out of the picture. I can tell you, I haven't felt this proud ab...

Hoodie: Language Killed the Story

http://talesfromthehoodie.blogspot.com/2009/04/language-killed-story.html

Monday, April 13, 2009. Language Killed the Story. When it comes to fiction I'm generally a cup-half-full kind of gal. Even when a story might not be right up my alley I'm usually able to find a measure of enjoyment in it and appreciate that it is probably right up someone else's. Why does that sound vulgar? I recently finished reading Prospero's. Children by Jan Siegel. I found the story to be fascinating and I was very impressed with her grasp of language. Wordtryst - Liane Spicer. I agree - the langua...

Hard To Want: December 2008

http://hardtowant.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

My life. I can't complain, but some times I still do. Monday, December 15, 2008. Ryan was there beside her when it happened. She was perfectly healthy. Ryan had to sell his home and move in with his parents. He's left alone to raise two girls, ages 6 months and 3 years. It's hard enough with two parents. I called him and offered my condolences, but what can one really offer in that situation except empty words? Awful, just tragic. I thank my lucky stars and twenty other clichés. Hard To Want: June 2009

http://hardtowant.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

My life. I can't complain, but some times I still do. Sunday, June 28, 2009. Right now I am in Houston visiting family. It's just Jackson and me right now; mom and Emmett stayed behind to make the trip easier. It's heart-warming what a little separation can do for a family. Jackson and Emmett talk to each other every day on the cell, and we exchange "I miss you" messages back and forth, with the occasional picture attachment. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My life. I can't complain, but some times I still do. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Tell Me About The Good Old Days. When I signed over the title to the mechanic, I took what I knew was going to be my last look at the bike. He patted me on the shoulder because he just knew. So I have to respect how I spend every cent of the money I sold her for. The Amazing Slow Downer. The only question left was which song to start with. I've decided on the Judds song called. Grandpa Tell Me about the Good Old Days.

Hard To Want: February 2009

http://hardtowant.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

My life. I can't complain, but some times I still do. Thursday, February 19, 2009. By the way, Beth (it was you I think), thanks for turning me onto the short stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald. I finished. My family life has been astoundingly wonderful. I've always been happy at home, but happy in a way that is deferent to the way things were before I met my wife. Marriage isn't always easy, and can sometimes be difficult, but I've never. Happy tenth, baby. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tales From The Hoodie.

Tales from the Hood: My Journey through Motherhood

Tales from the Hood: My Journey through Motherhood. Friday, December 16, 2011. To Motherhood and Beyond! Whenever I see one of those commercials or billboards picturing a pregnant woman and captioned "Pregnant and alone? Callfor help" something inside of me wants to burst out into laughter, because I know better. I've learned from experience that once you become a mommy you won't be alone again for a VERY long time.
