starbelly handmade: cowboy cape

http://talesfromtheseamripper.blogspot.com/2013/03/cowboy-cape.html

March 11, 2013. Are probably my favorite thing to make. The whole process - from conceptualizing, to designing, to sewing, to giving - is a true delight. This one has been in the project pile for quite a while. It is for one of the cutest toddlers I know - a cowboy named Henry. I think he's finally tall enough to wear it! Marcus is always eager to model capes for me. He just started Karate, like his brother, and he uses any opportunity to showcase his new moves. A superhero in one? Welcome to my blog!

starbelly handmade: just call me scarf elf

http://talesfromtheseamripper.blogspot.com/2013/04/just-call-me-scarf-elf.html

April 11, 2013. Just call me scarf elf. Yep, I'm still moving forward with starbelly handmade. Should I try seersucker for the same pattern but a more billowy look/feel? What do you think? Don't worry. My shop will be full of jersey knit scarves. I just made a bunch with some of these fabrics. I also have a couple of bags in the works, too. More to come soon! And, once I get my new site up and running, I'll launch an FB page and host a giveaway. Exciting times! April 11, 2013 at 7:04 PM.

http://clutteredcrafting.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Oh how I've missed you! Posted by Livia Leigh. Thursday, April 29, 2010. Its been a long time since Ive written, and I apologize about that! Visiting my family was fantastic, and Charleston is so beautiful, I love it so! I had a wonderful birthday while I was there, the city even held a parade in my honor. Or St. Patricks honor. One of us, I like to think its me. . Ive been a busy busy bee getting ready and then going to my first craft fair. Dont forget to check out my new Etsy. Links to this post.

Cluttered Crafting: May 2010

http://clutteredcrafting.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Posted by Livia Leigh. Tuesday, May 11, 2010. So for the past few weeks Ive REALLY wanted to make a skirt, which is weird in itself, because I really cannot stand to wear skirts. Quite frankly, I hate them. But I made one, and I know someone who will like it, but I couldnt give it away without a post about it, first. Every thing in this skirt I had on hand, so its fully up-cycled! Links to this post. Posted by Livia Leigh. Monday, May 10, 2010. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Quite frankly, I hate them. But I made one, and I know someone who will like it, but I couldn't give it away without a post about it, first. Maya Catching Butterflies: February 2012

http://mayacatchingbutterflies.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 27, 2012. The food was delicious: scones, finger sandwiches, fruit, cupcakes, tea cookies, petits fours, and teas from Queen Mary Tea Room. While the children ate like princesses at the long banquet table, we moms gathered around in the kitchen where we nibbled treats, sipped tea and chatted. Here are a few images from that day:. Links to this post. Thursday, February 23, 2012. Jon shakes the bottle to make sure the contents settle evenly. Then she had a slight meltdown. We had a lazy Su...

Maya Catching Butterflies: April 2012

http://mayacatchingbutterflies.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 17, 2012. We arrived at our cabin confronted with a steep ladder that led the girls to the sleeping loft where there were two cozy beds and an old steamer trunk for which to store their clothes. At times I felt the ladder was a bit too steep for the rascals. Isn't it interesting how pictures reveal personalities? In the image above you see Alex front and center - Alex is not shy. Then, in the background is my cautious, shy child, Sammy. Links to this post. Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Our fami...

Maya Catching Butterflies: September 2011

http://mayacatchingbutterflies.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 20, 2011. We're only a few days into the school year and already my children seem more settled. They're in a routine, spending time with friends, doing brain work. I love it. This past weekend Seattle got a sneak peek at autumn. Rain, wind, and a canopy of grayish blue skies encouraged me to rifle through my collection of sweaters and jeans for something just right. Something not too heavy, and not too light. Here are images from that trip:. Links to this post. 3 cups cake flour, sifted.

Maya Catching Butterflies: October 2011

http://mayacatchingbutterflies.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 27, 2011. I remember giggling saying, "That's not a picture. Those are. We are kicking in to high Halloween gear around here. We're loving the spooky decorations and the promise of candy come Halloween night. This past weekend we carved pumpkins using stencils to make images of ghosts and owls. The girls were great, digging inside the pumpkin removing guts and seeds as best they could. In the end, as usual, I swooped in to take out any remaining bits of slime. Links to this post. We arr...

Maya Catching Butterflies: The Gift of Life

http://mayacatchingbutterflies.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-gift-of-life.html

Tuesday, December 18, 2012. The Gift of Life. My daughters mean the world to me. My children, like most children, are incredibly honest. They are unafraid to say what's on their minds. The other day I wore a short skirt, knit sweater, tights and ankle boots. I asked Alex what she thought of my outfit and she said, "Mom, no offense, but. those are really weird looking shoes, and no offense, but I would just change out of the whole thing." Wow, that stung a little. December 19, 2012. December 19, 2012.

Posted by Livia Leigh. Friday, March 12, 2010. My baby Simon is purring.while his brother Peanut keeps staring at him wondering what hes doing. I think it may be time for some tea and dinosaur chicken nuggets. Hey look at that, you can see the heart from this post. I'm leaving for Charleston on Saturday, I'll try to post before I leave, but in case I don't, you can stare at these cute creatures. Love and glue guns,. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Tales from the Sea Garden. Tales from The Sea Garden. Email me: theseagarden@btinternet.com. Tuesday, 14 July 2015. I have built up a little collection of handmade Victorian and Edwardian sleeves. Some are still in pairs and others I have only one. Such painstaking work and attention to detail is quite astonishing to our eyes today. We seem to have lost so much in our modern dress in terms of beauty, delicacy and feminine allure. Just imagine what it must have felt like to wear such precious garments.
