Excuse me, I have a few questions. 1 When did it become socially acceptable for women to be called “females” by anyone beside law enforcement and misogynists? 2 Why don’t we dance more? 3 Why do we accept the mediocre? 4 Why isn’t Spring here yet? 5 Why does my corgi Cooper carry a giant plush bone and pace around the living room whimpering? Why does he do this after dinner and at no other time? It’s been SIX MONTHS!

For the past twelve week-days at eight am I lay down on a machine like this one. They put a fitted mesh mask over my head to hold it still and the computer directs the machine to shoot beam of radiation into my brain. I have two more to go. No Dance. Trying to live while fighting triple-negative metastatic breast cancer. On August 27, 2009 I was diagnosed with Stage 1, grade 3 Triple-Negative breast cancer. I had a supposedly successful lumpectomy, followed by four rounds of Taxotere and Cytoxin chemotherapy and 38 radiation treatments. When I finished treatments in February 2010, the doctors told me I was cancer free and sent me on my way with regular six month check ups. The Metastatic Breast Cancer Ribbon.
