Monday, 24 September 2007. Saturday, 22 September 2007. Went for a great run from Geelong to Colac, Lavers Hill along the Great Ocean Road to Lorne via Apollo Bay. It was another great spring day with a clear blue sky, but just a bit cool at approx 13-15C and probably colder in the hills. It was Marty's first run on his new Kawasaki ZX9. The long time editor of Australian Motorcycle News (AMCN) Ken was an iconic figure in Australian motorcycling journalism. Over the years I've greatly enjoyed his motorcycle test reports, annual touring stories and race reports, as well as his track side commentary at various Phillip Island motorcycle races. Sunday, 31 July 2011. The ZX14 in front of the Forrest microbrewery. Only hot chocolate for me though! Less than 5 months till Christmas. At the West Barwon dam. The average temp for the day was around 5C, and was hovering around 3C for quite a while in the early am. All up it was around 415 kms, which was about 50 kms too much in those low temps! Their AGM and associated ride out was held today and I was able to ride to the Wallace Hotel (Vic) to catch up with Tom K (1927 Scott Flying Squirrel) and Tim K aboard his Dad’s 1930 Scott. It was a terrific opportunity photograph some beautiful old machines in motion. These bikes are ridden and enjoyed. Lots more pics in my gallery. Click HERE.
