Ancient Calm I and II. Near Lake Kay Ode to Dombrovski. My works aim to capture the true nature of diffused light across the sublime character of Tasmania's remote wilderness areas. I am an artist driven to encapsulate an evocative mood and sublime narrative with my works. I endeavour to capture the coalesing light and atmosphere than a particular geographical location. Transporting the viewer by means of my paintings to those remote and timeless places is something of great concern to me.

The way light interacts with land and water is the main theme and this continues down to this day. I feel successful art goes beyond technical ability. It expresses an emotion that hopefully compels the viewer to think beyond what is initially viewed. To create art like this is what drives me each day I stand in front of my easel. Finalist at the Bay of Fires Art Prize in 2013 with the painting Near Lake Kaye. 2015 I received a highly commended at the Tas Art Awards.
