An organic, local approach to improving health. One meal at a time. Tuesday, December 1, 2009. I roasted a 22lb bird for Thanksgiving this year. With a group of 8 for dinner there was quite a bit of leftover turkey. (It was all part of my grand strategy to get to try several post-turkey day recipes! This is a fantastic chili for a cool autumn day. The turkey really tastes delicious in it. Don't forget the cumin - it's addition added immensely to the depth of flavor. 3 Tbl olive oil. 1 tsp crushed garlic.

I was able to use many ingredients that I usually have in the fridge, plus just a few extras (kale and mushrooms) that I picked up at the store. Inexpensive and quick - it's an easy weeknight meal any time of year. 2 Tbl extra-virgin olive oil. 1/2 onion, diced. 1 large carrot, diced. 2 celery stalks, diced. 1 t dried basil.

Friday, September 11, 2009. Camping on Grape Island. On the last weekend of Summer we camped on a Boston Harbor Island, Grape Island with some friends. It was a great time. We made a big fire on the shore with downtown Boston in the background (you can see it very small in the picture above). We rented a zipcar for the day because I have so much credit and decided to go to Rockport, Ma. It was a very cute town on the ocean. There are a lot of cute little shops and restaurants.
