A blog about experiences on software development. Open source param manager for delphi. We recently released as open source a framework that was proprietary code. This is part of a program that is intended to turn parts of our code base in open source code. In fact, we now have an entire afternoon, every week, to work on open source projects, we are using this time to decouple and release some of our code. The entire code, automated tests and documentation is on github, here. March 17, 2015. Nice, but co...

A blog about experiences on software development. DataSnap analysis based on Speed and Stability tests. I found some references from other people talking about it on StackOverflow:. How to do a REST webserver with Delphi as a backend for a big web application? Using REST with Delphi. The most obvious option is the DataSnap, which works very similarly to what is found in legacy applications. It can drag components, using dbExpress, for example. A blog about experiences on software development. SOAP and REST – Using GZip with Delphi client. Implementation of compression with REST is extremely simple. It’s just a matter of correctly setting the “Compressor” attribute of the TIDHttp component. I’m using TIdCompressorZLib. IdHttp := TIdHTTP.Create(nil); IdHttp.Compressor := TIdCompressorZLib.Create(IdHttp);. NOTE: This does not work in Delphi XE2. Access violation occurs. Works in XE3. These tests were done in order to compare the implementation of...

A blog about experiences on software development. Author Archives: Roberto Schneiders. How to deploy a ISAPI application on AWS Elastic Beanstalk. I’m working on a new infrastructure for a DataSnap server. I need some basic stuff, pretty straightforward in the most technologies, but not very common for delphi servers, like automated distributed deploys, load balancing, auto scaling, failover.
