The Dirty Word | London Cargobike Mum
https://londoncargobikemum.wordpress.com/2016/02/09/the-dirty-word
Tales of a Flemish mum cargobiking through London. The Great British Cycling Community. I have been part of the London branch since August last year. And, there is something which I need to rant about. WHERE ARE ALL THE WOMEN? Indeed, where are the women in this community! Tonight there is a debate at the Design Museum. The Museum has a lovely exhibition called “The Cycle Revolution” and they are holding a debate about said topic. What particularly annoys me is their Line up. FOUR MEN, one woman. 4!

26 Miles 4 MND. I’ve been taking “street” photographs from a mobility scooter recently using my little Ricoh GR compact. It’s a funny thing, but what they say about people not noticing you if you are disabled and in a scooter or a wheelchair is quite frequently true and it makes for great candids! I decided to see just how close I had to get before I was noticed in my scooter the other day, gradually I got closer and closer…. 26 Miles 4 MND. Walking the talk – “Venice calling”. I often find myself browsing through the photos that I took in Venice. We were only there for a week and I have to say it was the most prolific week, in photographic terms, that I’ve ever had. Some stand out to me as personal favourites and there are a few images that I didn’t get around to using in blog posts, so I thought I’d post them here today. Creating images in Venice really can be like enjoying a fabulous meal. Evening, Sky Over Nine Columns.

26 Miles 4 MND. Street photography in the countryside. Despite having MND I can still manage a short walk occasionally, just so long as my crutches take the strain. I’ll normally start off confidently but gradually, at around ten steps in, will experience the start of increasing pain as my already tight muscles contract and say “no, slow down” – That’s my inner zen master telling me not to rush and to enjoy the moment. Slowly approaching this lone sunbather my mind was thinking “please don’t ...I hope yo...

26 Miles 4 MND. Non-conservative, non-angry, mindful protest. Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned. Just in case you hadn’t noticed(! 8230;… there’s been an election here in the UK. The Conservatives have a majority for the first time in 20 years and it seems they will be pushing forward austerity measures with no holds barred now. And eruptions of anger at what some consider an unfair situation. By pure coincidenc...
