堪薩斯大學的Joseph H. Sokal教授在1983年發表了四篇文章談一群假想生物的分類與演化，這群生物被稱為Caminalcules。而這系列假想生物也在日後成為許多大學教授系統發育與系統分類學重要的素材。然而在2014年的現在，回頭看Sokal的這個想法，其實有很多奇怪的地方。我這篇文章主要的用意就是告訴大家，如何看待Sokal當年的想法與理論背景，還有他的這些假想生物是否適合在高中生物與大學系統發育學中當成教材。如果不適合，為什麼？如果適合，應該怎麼做？ 1) 首先，請注意Sokal本身是數量分類學(numerical taxonomy)，也就是表型學派(phenetics)的支持者，而不是支序學派(cladistics)的學者。左邊這個圖經常出現在生物學課本中。anagenesis叫線性演化，而cladogenesis則是分支演化。線性演化的意思是說，新物種的形成是由祖先種直接變成子孫種，也就是說新物種的形成是漸變式的(gradualism)。而分支演化下的物種形成(speciation)則認為共祖會產生兩...那表型學派的物種形成觀點是線性還是分支？其實都不是&#12290...

我想要比較兩個物種的XX＜＝＝但比較基礎是什麼呀？在生態、演化與系統分類領域的研究中，有一種題目一直是歷久不衰的，也就是. X與Y的比較"。我每次看到這種題目我就會問同學："X和Y的比較基礎是甚麼"？但是不少同學都無法回答。我不知道同學是否受到台灣媒體上那些動不動就把名人抓來比一比的影響，而不知道甚麼叫"比較基礎"。就好比你拿Jolin和周杰倫比身高、收入、緋聞數、專輯數、或寵物是沒有意義的，因為兩個人的性別不同，而性別在某些方面決定了努力的方向與市場訴求。所以有甚麼好比的？洪秀柱和蔡英文能比嗎？可以，因為兩人都是潛在的總統候選人。但是當她們兩個人不再是總統候選人時，就失去了除了性別以外的共通點，所以就沒甚麼好比的。菊科植物的棲位繁多，可能是草本、木本、藤本，可以是陸生也可以是水生的。如果有人做了一個題目，要比較＂氣孔形態＂，他可能就會去做一堆的電子顯微鏡觀察，然後呢，他一定會＂看到差異＂。但是請問看到...有袋類和真獸類之間有很多有意思的，因為趨同而產生的平行演化現象。所以我們可以比較鼴鼠和袋鼴鼠、鼯鼠和蜜袋鼯之間的差異嗎？他們很顯然沒有...訂閱：張貼留言 (Atom). 此課程為3學分,...
