Lázaro Valdés y Son Jazz. How To Get There. Darren Sheppard’s pan career began as a bright, talented soloist at a mere seven years of age. He quickly distinguished himself as the only student to participate in the School Steelband Competition in four categories – as Captain, Arranger, Soloist and Drummer. In 1995 he performed at the Ontario Science Centre for visiting U.S. astronauts. On Saturdays from 9 am on Channel 4, panman Darren Sheppard conducts a 30-minute programme, explaining how to play the pan.
