Light to my path: The Blessed Man
http://light2path.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-blessed-man.html
Thoughts and meditations on Scripture. Wednesday, May 14, 2014. This is my first post in a long time. I hope that my discipline in posting and in meditating on God's Word will improve going forward, so, with that in mind, I have decided to do a post on Psalm 1. The Psalm shows us two ways, or lifestyles, that we can follow. One of these ways is filled with blessing, while the other way leads to despair. These are generalizations of people who basically live as if God does not exist. We need to be careful...

Light to my path: What About Those Who Don't Know About Jesus
http://light2path.blogspot.com/2013/07/what-about-those-who-dont-know-about.html
Thoughts and meditations on Scripture. Tuesday, July 2, 2013. What About Those Who Don't Know About Jesus. What About Those Who Don't know about Jesus. A few weeks ago we were looking at probably the most famous passage in the Bible. John 3:16. In the sermon I referred to the reality that we need to face that we are totally lost and eternally condemned without Jesus. This is true also of those people who have never even heard about Jesus. 1 Maybe we think: Don't all religions lead to heaven? Let us consi...

Light to my path: Ritual turned to Blessing
http://light2path.blogspot.com/2012/12/ritual-turned-to-blessing.html
Thoughts and meditations on Scripture. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Ritual turned to Blessing. John 2:1-12 - The Miracle of turning Ritual to Blessing. Also known as the miracle of turning water into wine, this miracle has great significance as it shows us the contrast between the water of ritual cleansing, turned into wine for the wedding feast. It is also significant that the account of this miracle also shows us that the wine that was now brought to the feast was the "good" wine (John 2:10). It w...

Light to my path: May 2014
http://light2path.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Thoughts and meditations on Scripture. Friday, May 23, 2014. This morning I was reading in the book of Proverbs 19:3. When a man's folly brings his way to ruin, his heart rages against the Lord. This proverb strikes a true chord. Many are the times when I have heard of people who do something foolish, and once the repercussions set in, they resent that God has not protected them from whatever went wrong. Do something that results in problems, and then we resent it when God doesn't immediately bail us out?

Thoughts and meditations on Scripture. Friday, December 14, 2012. The Testimony of John the Baptist. Devotional Thoughts on John 1:19-34. The Testimony of John the Baptist. John the Baptist was busy baptizing people and preaching, and the Jewish leaders became curious about him. They sent the.
