Perennial Pastimes: ready to camp!

http://perennialpastimes.blogspot.com/2010/08/ready-to-camp.html

Contemplating her gardens and her favorite pastimes. Monday, August 30, 2010. We have been getting our family place in Knox ready for camping for a few weeks now. Heading to camp for some ice cold orange-ade. We had both days there this weekend and it feels like we really have the place ready for the family. We've taken inventory of the shed and swept and cleaned the outhouse. Notorious, nefarious outhouse. Looking at the shed. Those are the main things! Shadow loves the pond. This blog has moved! Escape From The Taliban |

https://awwproject.wordpress.com/2010/01/30/escape-from-the-taliban

A Letter To My Parents →. Escape From The Taliban. January 30, 2010. We started our journey in a caravan of six buses. Early in the morning when we were leaving Mazar-e-Sharif, the streets were covered with bodies and blood. I still remember seeing the piles of dead bodies lying along the road. I asked my mother, Why don’t the families of these dead people take them home and bury them? This entry was posted in Sana A. A Letter To My Parents →. 2 responses to “ Escape From The Taliban. Perennial Pastimes: November 2010

http://perennialpastimes.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Contemplating her gardens and her favorite pastimes. Sunday, November 7, 2010. It seems that work and courses at the Reading Institute have monopolized my time. I've hung up a bird feeder outside and already they are groups of birds regularly gathering in my back yard. Black-capped chickadees gather usually, but today the blue jays and cardinals added some color. It's a treat to watch them, and listen to the wind chimes, while I study at the kitchen table. Perennial Pastimes: Hummingbird buzzes me!

http://perennialpastimes.blogspot.com/2010/08/hummingbird-buzzes-me.html

Contemplating her gardens and her favorite pastimes. Thursday, August 26, 2010. I was just sitting there, as I've seemingly done all summer. Working on my final doesn't seem so dreadful if I am on my deck looking out at nature's beauty. I just filled my hummingbird feeders yesterday because I'd noticed that not only were they both empty, but a hummingbird was over at my hibiscus next door in my mother-in-law's garden. Had he traveled over there after noticing my feeders were empty? This blog has moved!

Perennial Pastimes: September 2010

http://perennialpastimes.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Contemplating her gardens and her favorite pastimes. Thursday, September 9, 2010. Our vacation was wonderful: camping with the family. I have wonderful beaver pictures to post but that will have to wait until Sunday. I have to believe I will have some time to call my own on Sunday. We came home late Monday evening, after spending the whole weekend at our family property camping with our children and their spouses. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). teaching on the brightside

Teaching on the brightside. Teaching on the brightside.

Thursday, July 28, 2016. Card Sorts for Groups. After a brief chat on doing card sorts with groups by @samjshah on Twitter earlier this week, I was reminded of a method for doing a group card sort that I learned a couple years ago. I had completely forgotten about learning this at a school PD day and was thankful for the memory prompt. The method was presented by an amazing teacher on my campus, Ramy Mamoud. And a group of three students. Here's how this card sort would work:. The first student in the gr...

Emergent curriculum and play-based learning the Reggio way. 5 Lessons from Camp. August 6, 2015. What struck me most after he barreled down the hill and into my arms was how brilliantly camps and their counselors work to build relationships with kids, quickly and deeply, so that after only 3 nights my son was firmly attached to the young men who had been caring for him. What could teachers learn from them as we barrel towards the inevitability of a new school year? I write a lot. Themselves. Their ac...
