Teaching Their Teacher

Thursday, January 17, 2013. Here I Go Again. I realize that I'm starting to sound like a broken record. I post about once a week (I'm going to go ahead and give myself more credit than I deserve here) and swear that THIS week, I'll post every day. Each time I think about this blog, I think about all of the bloggers that really do this every single day. Teachers, nonetheless! Oh, sweet boy, I'll always be hangin' on to you, too. Teaching Their Teacher: November 2012

http://teachingtheirteacher.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 29, 2012. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Well, so much for blogging every night of my lead week! Maybe I'll have better luck during my second lead week in accomplishing this goal- things are just so busy. Tuesday night I had a job fair on campus and Wednesday night I did some relaxing, which was necessary! Alas, it's Thursday and I'm feeling guilty, so I'm back. Here are some updates from my first lead week:. Tuesday: Sick and distracted. Wednesday: What did these kids eat? For our shar...

Teaching Their Teacher: Hiatus

http://teachingtheirteacher.blogspot.com/2013/01/hiatus.html

Monday, January 7, 2013. Oh my word. It's been almost three weeks since I posted on this blog! A man very dear to my heart said to me a short time ago, "So the blog thing is kind of done for now, huh? I responded with a prompt, "No! And then realized that my actions were certainly speaking louder than my words. I need to work on that! I was able to finish my entire TPA assignment and get it officially turned in. What a weight off of my shoulders! I had an amazing ten days at home with my loved ones!

Teaching Their Teacher: October 2012

http://teachingtheirteacher.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 30, 2012. My first lead teaching day is in the books! Prepare for a long post, folks. At the beginning of the morning, my CT asked me what my goals for the day were. The three things that immediately came to mind were:. 1) Having eyes all around the room. 2) Being able to manage student behavior. In hopes that they will just drop it and move on. When they respond with, "I'm really sad. I want you to help me talk to them." how can I just walk away? It's a new record. And you know what?

Teaching Their Teacher: Lead Week Prep

http://teachingtheirteacher.blogspot.com/2012/12/lead-week-prep.html

Wednesday, December 5, 2012. I'm having a conversation with my CT right now about what will happen during my lead week next week. Some of the key areas that I really want to smooth out are:. Being consistent with expectations for every kid. Even if my favorite, cute little lass is talking on the rug, I have to call her out. If I call out one kid for doing something, I need to call out all of them for doing that thing *Also, not budging on expectations! That's all for now! View my complete profile.

Tuesday, April 10, 2012. I am not very good at doing this more than every 2 months! February was kind of boring.not a whole lot to blog about. But now I can write all about our wonderful trip to Vegas and Easter! In March, my parents, Ben, Gracelyn, and I all went on a vacation to Vegas and the Grand Canyon. It was so fun to see everything through Gracelyn's eyes. She had an awesome time! She LOVED Circus Circus! She was amazed by how realistic it was! Here are some pics of the Grand Canyon! You don't appreciate how nice your camera is until it is broken! I have ordered a new lens.got it for half price on Target.com.but I have to wait like a month to get it. How do you all feel about time outs? Is Gracelyn too young? I am going crazy! Any input would be great. We have full blown conversations! Do want some milk? Ben and...

Sunday, May 1, 2011. Altoona, I'm back! The past few weeks have been crazy! In one week I found new tenants for our side of our duplex, a new daycare provider, and a new place to live. Ben needs to move to Eau Claire for his job and we thought this might be happening for a little over a year now. We finally got the confirmation and I worked my tush off in order to get everything done in time! It will be wonderful! I am just excited to be moving! It has been so much work and it will continue to be, but I ...

Saturday, October 1, 2011. So, I haven't blogged in forever and my sister keeps reminding me of it! So here we go! I am so happy that is finally fall! Summer is fun while it lasts, but I am much more of a fall/winter girl. Most people tend not to agree with me on this one. My daughter included. The first day it really was chilly out. She walked out to the garage and said, "Ooo, its cold! And then she insisted on having a blanket on her in the car, along with her coat and boots. She loved it :-). Ben and ...

Sunday, April 3, 2011. Do I allow her to do that herself or help her? Do I stay firm with the decision I just made or do I cave? Is the decision I am about to make going to scar her for the rest of her life? Aaahhhh. the list can go on and on. We show up at the school all ready to go to the show and find out that the show is completely sold out. I never thought about getting tickets ahead of time! I had totally built the whole thing up and now we couldn't even go! Me: Gracelyn, do you want a brother?

http://benandjenna.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 10, 2012. So, it has been like a year since I last posted on my blog. (I am exaggerating, like 6 months) I am not sure why I haven't kept it up. I did become pregnant a month and a half after my last post and that might have contributed to my lack of interest in blogging. This pregnancy has been even more fun than the first! So, I am very, very anxious to give birth this time. I want April to get here now! I know she is going to be a wonderful helper! So, maybe I will continue to update ...

Thursday, January 19, 2012. How long can I wait to put out a new post? Apparently a long time! I also left my camera at my brother's house for two weeks, so that didn't help the situation either. Anyway, the holidays are always crazy and this year was no different. I had the week between Christmas and New Year's off and it was wonderful! My mom and dad, Gracelyn, and I all traveled down to Madison for a couple days to watch my nephew and niece which was fun! Gracelyn loved every second! And I have been k...

Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Where has the time gone? I cannot believe that I am a mother of a 3 year old little girl. Gracelyn has completely changed my life. I went from being Jenna Marie Boeckmann (Torud) to being Gracelyn Kate's mom. The most rewarding job and title I will ever have. She makes every day of my life better. She is the funniest person I know. The things that come out of her little mouth amaze me! Loves babies and pregnant women! They love to play ball, horse around, and tease me! Ben and I m...

Teaching the latest

A place to talk about teaching and learning. Sunday, 9 November 2014. Another one bites the dust. I was taught that rhythm as a tool for helping resuscitation. That's what it feels like as I write this first post for about two years. I am pulled to write it by the excitement I got from participating at the KL GAFE - Google apps for Education. I am pushed to write it with the impending JAWS Maths conference in Penang this weekend. So what should I present? During our BSO inspection (last week! I then prin...
