Choose some advertisements from a magazine in which you can easily separate the text from the photo and cut the two apart. Split the students into pairs and hand out one photo for each pair. It’s great for English as a second language students to learn English phonetic symbols because they tell exactly how to pronounce a word. The phonetic symbols of a word can be looked up in any English dictionary. If you don’t already have a list of the phonetic symbols for English, you can find them HERE. Teach, motivate, inspire. Friday, August 9, 2013. Can you believe school starts in just a matter of a couple of weeks. some of you could possibly already be in school. I haven't even gotten into my classroom yet.GASP! I have been doing plenty of stuff from home and every all day long Kim and I have been texting or calling each other and bouncing ideas back and forth.
