Speech pathologist Student teacher Auslan learner Primary school tutor. Scavenger hunt (the school version). June 28, 2015. For the past few weeks, I have been teaching prepositions to quite a number of students at work. Understanding prepositional language is important for following instructions, formulating sentences and it is also part of the Australian Curriculum for Numeracy. Speech pathologist Student teacher Auslan learner Primary school tutor. June 20, 2015. June 20, 2015. Currently, I haven’t used visual schedules with my students as much due to the different case-load. Most classes do have a class schedule of some sort- some are visual-based, others are written. The Greatest Irony. – letscommunicateandteach

Speech pathologist Student teacher Auslan learner Primary school tutor. June 14, 2015. June 14, 2015. Maureen Klutsza. (n.d.). http:/ www.cafepress.com/moeart. A few of my work colleagues posted this picture on Facebook this morning. It really got me thinking all day (and night)! The irony about this picture is that the hearing child has access to sign language yet the Deaf child appears to be “stuck” and unable to use sign language to communicate. Seems silly, doesn’t it? Everyone has the rights to comm...

Speech pathologist Student teacher Auslan learner Primary school tutor. A simple language activity relating to “Space”. August 23, 2015. It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog- unfortunately study, wedding planning and work took over my life and it’s only today that I’ve managed to have a whole Sunday off since the June/July term break. This is a picture of me trying to complete one of the many essays recently! Tonight, I would like to share a simple but creative (possibly? Day vs. Night. This week,...
