About Teacups and Buttercups. Books Read in 2014. An old fashioned heart. Month: December, 2014. December 31, 2014. Another Year Over, A New One Just Begun. Well, well. Goodbye 2014. What an amazing year it’s been! My son started preschool in January. My baby is growing up! In 2015 he will start school proper. I had a baby girl on Thursday 27th February at 15:55. She’s the greatest achievement of my year by far. An amazingly hot and sultry summer was had, spending lots of time with family and friends.

About Teacups and Buttercups. Books Read in 2014. An old fashioned heart. Now that we are fully paid up members of the National Trust, we intend to make the most of our membership and so the Sunday after setting off for Basildon Park, we made our way to The Vyne, near Basingstoke. It was still enjoyable though, in spite of the weather. I personally love a bracing walk and it set us up well for our picnic, which we had pretty much on arriving at the house proper. Do give The Vyne a visit if you’re e...

About Teacups and Buttercups. Books Read in 2014. An old fashioned heart. I passed an extremely enjoyable hour the other day watching a documentary. I had recorded over the Christmas period. It was on BBC4 (love love love) and was all about the phenomenon that is the Ladybird. I know that it was at this time, in my late teens, that I was discarding my own ladybird books in a bid to feel more grown up, as I was replacing them with nineteenth century classics and modern cult novels. Ladybirds now go fo...

Friday, 16 January 2015. January: A Vintage Description of Nature In The English Countryside. From a laneside elm, the mistlethrush utters his wild lay and, on days when an icy wind carries snow in his lap, the 'storm-cock' will sing his rattle song in defiance of the weather. But the robin is more cautious, for when storms are near he sings in the open. Thus, country lore gives to him the credit of being a weather prophet. Wednesday, 25 February 2015. George Mackay Brown is probably Orkney's most famous writer, and he is one of my favourites. The following passages are from his writings. The first one is from his collection of stories, 'Winter Tales':. For winter has its own magic: mazes of stars, the changing moon, and rare-come Aurora.". Labels: George Mackay Brown. Tuesday, 28 April 2015. A Cabinet of Curiosities and Some Eccentrics. If museums stuffed full of quaint and curious old objects intrigue you as much as they do me, then surely this episode from 'A Cabinet of Curiosities' by Lucinda Lambton, will interest you. This is the only episode, from this fascinating series, to find at this time, and her enthusiasm and curiosity is infectious; though some of the strange things in this are well, rather strange! 1 May 2015 at 15:47. It felt so great when i was on the whole30 and eating clean.i need to remember that feeling when making food choices. i have a very sensitive stomach and could live more comfortably if i put more thought into my food choices. also, i've been paying for a gym membership that has been poorly neglected for months. time to get back at it! Monday, 10 August 2015. Eats: Chicken and Avocado Caesar Salad. If you're anything like me, then lunches for work can get a little monotonous after a while. Ham sandwiches for weeks on end followed by an occasional cheese one would bore most people. I have been trying to switch up my lunch with lots of healthy options. Usually, I go for a pick and mix approach, however this salad has been one of my recent favourites. Several leaves of Romaine Lettuce. 1/2 Avocado ( this amount is perfect for 1 person).

Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Homemade chocolate peanut butter cups. Why hello blogging world, it's been a long time! As usual, my main excuse for neglecting my beautiful little blog is because of school. It's just hard when you have so much to do and so little time to do it ( and when you want to spend your extra hours watching tv rather than cooking, washing dishes, taking pictures and then writing about it). I'm currently sitting at my school library, with a ton. Of things to do! I would make them!
