Starbuck, who's a 75 lb. male has become a true single leader; I dare say Walter would too and we'll probably try it next week. Another huge addition to our training is loose running the dogs on the off days which helps them stretch out and just have fun instead of always grinding away at the training miles. It's amazing how one small event can alter one's life. Somehow, shortly after taking a 2 hr. sled dog ride in 2001, we had 16 dogs and were training for our first Iditarod! With our lives involving 32 dogs and 85 horses, the experiences and blessings have been countless! Linda congratulating Lach for a great finish in Nome.
