Foxview Farm: January 2012
http://foxview-farm.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 7, 2012. This is not going to be an "in order" post, because I am really behind (and yes, I was taught do NOT start anything with an apology but I am starting this with one because clearly I didn't listen.). I am with Dr. Mason. I was told (perhaps warned? That I was going to love him. I do. It is one of the best rotations I have had, just because his patients adore him, he gives them every second they need, and he gives us every second WE need. How many people can do that? Bogeyman (al...

Saturday, April 28, 2012. 8221; I think it might hit me some time next week, when I am driving to get Nick in Vermont. Maybe then? I think I will probably need to stop, cry a good long time and then shake it off. So, its done. The next post, which needs its own page and space is going to be about preceptors. Because, they are what made me ready for this next step. You are going to be great and the patients are going to be grateful. May 2, 2012 at 10:02 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Foxview Farm: September 2011
http://foxview-farm.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 17, 2011. Is what we treat. A pt came in to us. Seriously hurt because they had done something stupid when consuming a bit too much alcohol. Well, a lot too much, really. Lucky because no one else got killed. He hurt himself worst of all, but his companion will be feeling the pain for days. He ended up being surgical to fix some seriously broken bones in his face. You ortho-gods, bones, bone fragments, breaking bones, moving bones-def not for me. I give you credit.). During his post-o...

Foxview Farm: March 2011
http://foxview-farm.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 9, 2011. But so be it. I am really glad I had this blog to look back at- loved seeing what happened earlier, and loved seeing what has happened because there has not been a lot of that in the past year. Well, Dumb and dumber on in class, and off we go to whatever comes on for the next class session. I've given up knowing, and frankly caring. When someone says "do something! So, third semester. yup- here I am. I am not sure exactly how, but that's okay. I look forward with bot...Things ar...

Foxview Farm: November 2011
http://foxview-farm.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 23, 2011. The LOL Surgical consult. Call nights are long- often filled with incredibly boring periods, peppered by intense moments of trauma codes. This night was no different, we had more ER consults than trauma codes. A good thing for the people involved, but for us, at hour 19, well, a bit of trauma does the exhausted body good-caffeine? No need with a healthy dose of adrenaline- stabbing, gunshot or 3, housefire with a pregnant woman- that'll getcha going. I can DO this! She had n...

The Many Adventures of Lauren. Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Thus begins the road to the Training 3 Day. Thiiiiiis is an entry. Not just ANY entry, though. See that upper right hand corner where it says T3D? Yep A lot of things have to happen between now and trotting out for phase A in 40 days or so, but I am EXCITED! Well, I guess technically it started in. 2008? Three years and three horses ago. Lyra at our first Novice (and last show together). Baby Brandy, just 8 months under saddle at her first BN.

The Many Adventures of Lauren: September 2011
http://manyadventuresoflauren.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
The Many Adventures of Lauren. Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Bobby's bridles are great quality at a decent price and look good, whether you take care of them or not! Both of my brown show bridles are Bobby's (well, most of pieces are, anyway), and a lot of my students have them also. The leather is great, the padding looks wonderful and they tend to fit true to size- my horses actually wear HORSE size, not cob! Murphy and Jazz sporting their Bobby's bridles. Sunday, September 25, 2011. So, anyone looking ...

Foxview Farm: September 2010
http://foxview-farm.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 18, 2010. Yup It is. 2nd semester of PA school and I am still here! It was a hellofa semester- partly because of PA school, partly because life reminded me that I am NOT in control and that I had better just hold on. So, I held, was exhausted, paid a physical price but made it in the end. No shining glory for me. A B kinda semester, which means passing, but.honestly, was horrid. But I am here. So, books- important. Very important. Mosbys? May be one of the worst books ever. I had a ba...
