for all my friends: February 2008
http://bootayhotep.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
For all my friends. Cause you asked for it - uh, do you still want it? Sunday, February 24, 2008. I went to Trader Joe's looking for Italian sausage for a lentil stew. They didn't have any. I got Andouille instead. I decided to get beer, too. Whitbread Pale Ale. The cute little cashier girl carded me. I snort-chuckled back. Are you laughing at me? I'm going to be 40 this year.". Wow, you look so good. My boyfriend is going to be 30 this year. He's worried about it. ". Thanks, you too.". Still, I don't wa...

The fear of falling is nothing compared to the fear of never leaving the ground. 2 It’s raining today and I have been required to come to terms that the nature of my cycling commute has changed for the next several months. For some reason I was under the impression that I could ride to work from the train station in the drizzle and keep my backside dry. I was unfortunately mistaken and will have to reconsider my riding wear to keep my po-fessional git-ups dry. Or just buy a fender that fits my CX bike.

Life Becomes Me: March 2007

The fear of falling is nothing compared to the fear of never leaving the ground. I've been having this itchy, antsy feeling like I really want something BIG to happen to me lately. All around me people are getting pregnant or married (really- 3 friends fit into these categories in the last 6 months). And since I'm not exactly. Yet in terms of life stages, I've been left to think, "mmm, maybe a want a new car" and "no, a vacation sounds better." That's the car I want, on the left, by the way. And sometime...

Because I just can't seem to leave things the way they are. Thursday, May 24, 2007. Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank goodness. I'm ready to be done with this bad boy. The mantle turned out really great - that is one heavy sum beotch, weighing in at approximately 275 lbs. Thanks to Nick and Elvin for helping me bring that thing in the house. Then it's onto Alaina's bathroom. Ugh. Posted by ginmtb @ 5/24/2007. Danville, California, United States. View my complete profile.

Because I just can't seem to leave things the way they are. Wednesday, April 18, 2007. This thing is actually starting to come together. Sometimes I amaze myself - of course, without Nick's help this project wouldn't even have started. Come to think of it, I'd be done as I would've gone with a wood mantel and granite/marble hearth. But this is going to be super suh-weet when it is all said and done. Here is the mantle with the form stripped off:. Posted by ginmtb @ 4/18/2007. Tuesday, April 17, 2007.

Because I just can't seem to leave things the way they are. Thursday, September 28, 2006. Tweaking sub so much I've got a headache. Sometimes I wonder what is better - having very few options and just dealing with what you've got or have tons of options and trying to get things poifect. Posted by ginmtb @ 9/28/2006. In the home stretch. Well, other than wiring the floor outlet, everything left is cosmetic. Here's a shot of the components in the column base. Might have made that opening a bit smal...Oh, a...

Because I just can't seem to leave things the way they are. Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Yes, not very consistent in my updating of this site. Oh well. I don't think anyone looks at it very often which is cool. Here are some photos:. Textured wall where sheetrock shelf was previously. Scroll way down to see what the old fireplace used to look like. Same as above, opposite side. These sections turned out really nice, and with the light paint, it is tough to tell there was a big patch job. I also templated th...

Because I just can't seem to leave things the way they are. Friday, March 30, 2007. You thought I was kidding with the frosting comment? Tracy's comment was priceless - "Is that supposed to make it look better? Posted by ginmtb @ 3/30/2007. Wednesday, March 28, 2007. Throw on a little frosting and voila! Actually, this is a better shot of the "cork board" below to give you a sense of what you're looking at. It is the center piece of the three piece hearth. Posted by ginmtb @ 3/28/2007. The fear of falling is nothing compared to the fear of never leaving the ground. Patience is a virtue. And one I'm proving to myself I don't have very much of. I planted my very first garden Sunday evening. Growing up, my dad had a garden in the backyard. But I wasn't that into it. I just knew not to touch the electric fence he put up to keep the dogs out. Now I've planted my own garden in the little space next to my kitchen door in the back lot of my studio complex. But I stop myself. Ride all day satur...
