Thursday, April 19, 2012. Cuckoo's Bakery, Dundas Street. Raspberry and white chocolate cupcake. I'm not going to lie; Cuckoo is my current favourite place for coffee and cake in. I found this little gem when one of my ex colleagues (a very arty ex colleague) liked them on Facebook and it popped up on my news feed. I'm ashamed that I didn't know of its existence without the help of others.I can usually sniff out great cake within a mile radius. Bars were on the menu. I lived in. For a year, and it is.

To be honest, the service was pretty slow, and the toilet queue was ridiculous (whether that can be helped or not it still matters) – or because the offerings were different. I am writing about a Starbucks. Because of its interiors, which I absolutely loved. A Starbucks will always be a Starbucks in terms of food/coffee and service.

Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Treacle, Broughton Street. I am starting with Treacle, because I have to start somewhere. So I decided that the place my friend and I decided I should start a blog of all things coffee would be as good as anywhere to start. Except I drank tea here. So lets focus on that. In hindsight, this made me sound like my grandmother, and I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or not. But the tea worked, made life better. Ah, Treacle. My refuge from the storm, and a great cup of tea.
