Category Archives: Tasteful Thoughts. The Importance of Meal Planning. Earl Grey Chocolate Tea Cake. I’m excited, today I get to have women’s small group at my house. Last night I whipped this together, Earl Grey (yummm) chocolate tea Cake! I cut them up into small bites, large squares of cake can be intimidating. It’s like biting into an earl grey heaven. I’ve also made Earl Grey Tea cookies. Here’s the cake recipe:. 6 Earl Grey tea bags or 2 tablespoons loose Earl Grey. 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter. Lisa B...

Jesus is Enough - The Reforming Woman

My heart sunk when my husband told me he was getting deployed to the Middle East. Upon hearing the news several months ago many thoughts and questions raced through my mind: Why does MY husband have to go? I’m not cut out for this. 10 months of separation, you’ve got to be kidding me. When I said I do I thought that meant we would be doing life TOGETHER. I thought we were pulling out of the Middle East. Our marriage is in such a good place God, why would you want to ruin that? Spend time in the Word.

Don’t be Afraid of the Ordinary. I’ve heard my parents tell their “love story” of how they met and came to be engaged several times. It’s quite a tale. Both my parents grew up in my home community of approximately 500, and they tell it like this: well, we were the only ones left. They say this with a straight face, because that’s pretty much it. What follows is always a few chuckles, followed by, “wait, you’re serious? DeYoung, Restless, and Reformed. The White Horse Inn. Out of the Horse's Mouth.

After reading the title of this article, are you already cringing at the thought of your home and life being slightly out of control? Or are you one who embraces adventure and the unexpected? In my little world raising five children those moments are not very often, but that is ok for now. Why? 8221; On some days...

Category Archives: Heart and Soul. Its All About Love. My little son just turned 1 and received The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones for his birthday. I had put it on his Amazon list and was excited for him to receive it, thinking to myself, I’m so glad my son will have his theology correct from the beginning of his life! Little did I know how each story would have an effect on my own heart every night as I read it to him. God looked at everything he had made. Perfect! Dear friend, if you are i...

Remembrance: When there’s no straining for my eyes to see. I am sitting in the quiet of my living room as little ones sleep. This pregnancy has led me to eating lunch around 10:15 rather than noon. So as I unashamedly finish off a plate of spaghetti by mid morning, I sit here thinking about this new little one that has continued to grow inside me.
