The video was taken near Pescador Island in the Philippines and you can see it on Science’s website. You can also read the paper – Thresher Sharks Use Tail-Slaps as a Hunting Strategy. I’ve been lucky enough to dive with them several times down at Malapascua with Trevor and Andreas of Thresher Shark Divers. From whose website I borrowed the photo above.

A Neil's eye view of the diving world. Newer posts →. August 19, 2011. There have now been two suspected shark attacks in just over a fortnight in the Seychelles. In the first, a 36 year old French diver was killed on 1st August off Anse Lazio beach on Praslin island. Then on 16 August a British tourist on his honeymoon died after being attacked while swimming at the same beach. He was pulled out of the water, but died later in hospital.
