Techie Teacher Thoughts

Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Teachers who don't share Wait, do what? I was told by one teacher that good teachers don’t share. This sentence from Steven Anderson and Tom Whitby, The Relevant Educator. Struck a chord with me. How can an educator NOT share their best practices, their failures, and their successes with other educators? So I go back to my question. How can an educator not want to be connected and share? These are two big reasons I see as obstacles for educators becoming connected, or more connected.

Informational text can include science and social studies textbooks, but there is so much more out there teachers can use in the classroom. NEWSELA allows teachers to discuss current...

Oh So Many iPad Apps: Quick Math

http://somanyipadapps.blogspot.com/2015/02/quick-math.html

Oh So Many iPad Apps. Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Is one of several math apps by Shiny Things. Quick Math is currently $1.99, but I have seen it free before! This app is geared toward students learning simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Shiny Things does have an app for younger and older students. Quick Math is rather simple and reminds of a flash cards. Students can create an account, but the teacher doesn't get any reports from these accounts. What are your thoughts?

Oh So Many iPad Apps. Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Math vs. Zombies. I am a big fan of the apps created by Tap to Learn. They provide apps on a variety of subjects (math, language arts, science) and they are easy to figure out and fun to play/explore. One of those apps I enjoy sharing with teachers is Math vs Zombies. Students can select from the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). There are also multiple levels within each operation. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
