Pathfinding: Some online publishing opportunities with the arrival of spring

http://tedmorrissey.blogspot.com/2012/03/some-online-publishing-opportunities.html

A blog devoted to helping new writers find outlets for their work. Sunday, March 11, 2012. Some online publishing opportunities with the arrival of spring. Using recent notices from one of my favorite market reporters, Duotrope's Digest. Of which I've written repeatedly), here are some venues that piqued my curiosity:. The mission of Brink Magazine. Through June 30, for this reading period, via a form within their own site. Another interesting online possibility is Conte. Page for links to helpful tips.

Pathfinding: May 2011

http://tedmorrissey.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

A blog devoted to helping new writers find outlets for their work. Monday, May 30, 2011. Yes, Summer Is a Quiet Time, But It Still Has a Pulse. For writers and poets. A quick perusal of Duotrope's Digest. Appears to be reading in the summer, and their editorial board "actively seeks emerging young writers.". Reads year-round, but warns that their response time is slowest October through January (so this may be a good bet for the truly eager). Reopened to submissions May 25. Caper. These journals listed h...

Pathfinding: Alternative outlets may be just the right venue

http://tedmorrissey.blogspot.com/2011/11/alternative-outlets-may-be-just-right.html

A blog devoted to helping new writers find outlets for their work. Sunday, November 27, 2011. Alternative outlets may be just the right venue. One of the great sources for potential markets that I've mentioned in several posts is NewPages.com. But I've generally focused on the literary outlets included there. NewPages.com. Also has a section titled "Alternative Magazines". Well known in the literary world, The Bloomsbury Review. But poets may want to check it out (as should essayists and reviewers).

Ted Morrison Writes | The writer and actor, not the photographer

The writer and actor, not the photographer. There but for the grace of the gods goes a Jackass? June 21, 2011 by Ted. So my friend JP posts about Ryan Dunn. Who got famous doing the “Jackass” series of films. Honestly the films looked so pointlessly stupid that I’ve never seen one. Nor did I know who Dunn was until he was drawn to my attention by my friend’s post. In essence my friend said:. Should we include his passenger (who also died) in our celebrations? Possibly, but intellectually I understand tha...

Pathfinding

A blog devoted to helping new writers find outlets for their work. Sunday, July 8, 2012. The world doesn't need another story (or poem). Just this morning I was indulging myself in reading the Master, William H. Gass, and I rediscovered his take on this very issue in the preface he wrote more than thirty years ago for the republication of his classic collection In the Heart of the Heart of the Country and Other Stories. Originally published in 1968). Gass wrote,. He must proceed from a reckless inner need.
