Saturday, May 24, 2008. Manny and I had a fun day. slept in, made egg white scramble with peppers asparagus and veggie sausage, wrote the bean blog, watched a great John Wayne movie The Shootist. Went to Lucky Baldwins. In Sierra Madre and split a chip medley. What is a chip medley? It's chips (fries), with sauteed mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, onions and Heinz baked beans. I fell in Heinz bean love. Santa Barbara Brewery. To end the day. so long farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodnight.

Carpinteria/Santa Barbara — The Graz Fam
http://www.thegrazfam.com/blog/2016/10/2/carpinteriasanta-barbara
August 27, 2016. Justin, Porter, and I traveled up the coast to Carpinteria and Santa Barbara for the day to go to a few new breweries and explore. There had been a couple of places that we wanted to go to so we decided to make a day out of it. Of course we started at our favorite burger shack, The Spot. We picked up a burger and chili cheese fries to share and walked them across the street to Island Brewing Co. We went to Figueroa Mountain. S Santa Barbara taproom. Then we visited Telegraph Brewing Co.

La Cerveza es Vida: Good beer, good company, so-so atmosphere
http://lacervezaesvida.blogspot.com/2007/12/good-beer-good-company-lousy-atmosphere.html
Good beer, good company, so-so atmosphere. Last night I met El Serracho and su esposa at Tustin Brewery in - you guessed it - Tustin. The brew is quite good. I had the American Pale Ale (pictured below) followed by a couple pints of Red Hill Red Ale. Their pale ale was smooth yet colored with flowery hops. I'm not much of a hop guy. IPAs are a bit too pungent for me. This pale ale was just right. The Serrach had some Barleywine. The inside of Tustin Brewery. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

La Cerveza es Vida: honest to god brewpub in panama
http://lacervezaesvida.blogspot.com/2007/12/honest-to-god-brewpub-in-panama.html
Honest to god brewpub in panama. Believe it or don't, but there's a genuine brewpub. In the heart of panama city (the one in panama, gringo). good stuff and welcome to me after a couple weeks of quaffing the tasty, but light, local lagers. PS this pic was taken last year, i don't recall much about the brew itself. shrug. Please be more specific.I swang by Istmo Brewery and the local beer was awful.I love Indian Pale Ale, but where in Panama could I get it? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

La Cerveza es Vida: Pilsen, Cerveza de Uruguay
http://lacervezaesvida.blogspot.com/2007/12/pilsen-cerveza-de-uruguay.html
Pilsen, Cerveza de Uruguay. When we were in Buenos Aires last year we took the ferry across the Rio de la Plata to the small town of Colonia, Uruguay. I had to try some Uruguayan beer. It only came in a large bottle. I don't remember much about it other than it was a typical light pilsner akin to the Argentinian brew Quilmes. Uruguay is very cold in August. I was in Colonia last week and had a Pilsen, now served in regular sized bottles. It is far superior to Quilmes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

La Cerveza es Vida: not that i'm proud
http://lacervezaesvida.blogspot.com/2007/12/not-that-im-proud.html
Not that i'm proud. The question that threw me was the North American spirit. I guessed rum, thinking back to the English colonial days, completely neglecting your Aztec brothers who cultivated the agave 1,000 years before. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). La Cerveza es Vida: coffee stout
http://lacervezaesvida.blogspot.com/2007/12/coffee-stout.html
I'm told, by my wife, that the caffeine in this one made me a bit more talkative than usual. ok, what she actually said was "you wouldn't shut the fuck up." whatever. I used to go to Newport Brewery for their $2 pint nights during college. Not sure if they still do that. Actually, there are several good brewpubs here in Irvine - BJ's, Steelhead and even Lampost Pizza is connected to its own brewery. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Green Flash Brewing Co.
