The Trip – Tenby Fishing

Once everyone is on board, the boat leaves the harbour / ramp and will travel to the sheltered waters between Tenby and Caldey Island. this takes a maximum of 15 minutes (about 1 mile). On reaching the fishing ground, the engine is stopped and the boat drifts quietly while the skipper gives brief instructions on how we use the rod and reel supplied, often catching fish as we do so (within 20 secs! Initially trained and employed as a commercial yachtmaster, offshore sailing instructor / flotilla skipper before buying his own fishing boat and fishing for lobster, crab and whelks locally.
