Cogitationes ab aeterno; the thoughts from eternity - theology, philosophy and life: The desire that haunts.
http://mikapolvikoski.blogspot.com/2011/05/desire-that-haunts.html
The desire that haunts. I would like to get closer to God. This is something I hear quite often from the lips of many Christians. If I'm completely honest, I've said it even to myself. This longing for an unknown, or the desire to become something more, unites all Christians, if one can. Another unifying factor is the idea, I guess, that it really is literally something which has to be found. Now I'm much closer to God. Sounds confusing, or what do you think? But when someone will say in a quiet voice, h...

Cogitationes ab aeterno; the thoughts from eternity - theology, philosophy and life: The possibility of the impossible
http://mikapolvikoski.blogspot.com/2011/09/possibility-of-impossible.html
The possibility of the impossible. There are two kinds of secular people. Another claims that all the religions of the world are nothing more than an illusions, wishful thinking, and trickery, and generally the whole faith in some kind of a Higher Sense. Is absurd. In other words, it is not possible to sense any divine in this world. Our world is for him a place where it is not possible to find even deeper meanings, because all so called spiritual thinking. Cannot occur. They are impossible for the s...

Cogitationes ab aeterno; the thoughts from eternity - theology, philosophy and life: Whom God loves in you?
http://mikapolvikoski.blogspot.com/2011/05/whom-god-loves-in-you.html
Whom God loves in you? All what we have been seeing in life, has deliberately created a persona. And you have to be. In this world where you live today. Everything has a purpose and everything is mysterious, wondrous and universal. Not a single breath, word, feel, change, opportunity and act in God's universe is insignificant. Instead, His love in you. Use the suffering as a tool, which refines the soul out of us and causes us to miss the love of God. God is ready to find us from all our hiding places, w...

Cogitationes ab aeterno; the thoughts from eternity - theology, philosophy and life: The beast comes out unexpectedly
http://mikapolvikoski.blogspot.com/2011/05/beast-comes-out-unexpectedly.html
The beast comes out unexpectedly. I do not know have you ever noticed, longer you stay in the forest, more increases the chance that sooner or later you must encounter a wild animal in the woods. Some of us face the beast within the first hour, and to some people it takes few hours, while some face the beast not until the dusk begins to settle. You might mutter to yourself. " How can this be possible? Could this happen to me? What do I do now? Am I going to die? To be with me - raises many questions....

The circle of suffering. My own vision of the suffering is - hopefully - a humane and realistic to a certain extent. I also hope that both the Bible and The Church. Can accept my view. I believe mankind to be in a situation, where it has created a world where there simply is. I find only one answer: nothing. My asthma does not make God good any more than He already is, nor unfair. Actually, my asthma does not say anything about God and His nature. Is a mutation of Downy Birch. But how God reacts. Is alre...

Cogitationes ab aeterno; the thoughts from eternity - theology, philosophy and life: The terrible modern mistake
http://mikapolvikoski.blogspot.com/2011/09/terrible-modern-mistake.html
The terrible modern mistake. I made a mistake once; I thought everyone else were wrong and only I was right. I imagined owning a bigger magnifying glass than any other, and that only I could find things that others do not notice. What a terrible burden it is to imagine that you were always right about philosophy, theology, policy, relationships, art, society or even God. But if we acknowledge that we might. They are two different things to know. And be aware of. Either way, it is not fashionable these da...

The Mystery of Pain: Deeper into the mystery. In this world there are three simple things. Birth, love and death. Man is a truly amazing creature when he can create complex ideas of them. What seems to be moving around these three is suffering. Suffering has a strong presence at birth, but especially in death, in many ways. When two people meet each other and share things together, their travel will soon be accompanied by suffering as they try to reconcile the two different worlds together. It is very di...
