Ironman 70.3 Auckland - bronze. With not being able to stand on the start line last year after being taken out by a car door 2 days before the race which resulted in a slow start to my 2013 season due to a concussion I was very grateful to be a part of the action this time around. A week of recovery ahead before getting back into the serious miles in my build up for Nutri-Grain Ironman NZ on the 1st March. Until then, keep safe. Birthday: 1 March 1985. This weekend was the Buffalo Springs Lake Ironman 70.3 in Lubbock Texas. After a good block of training back in New Zealand and a steady 10 days in the heat of Los Angeles I felt ready for a good race. I just finished 3. In the Ironman 70.3 Vineman tri today up in Sonoma Valley. It was a tough race but I am pleased with the result and I am looking forward to a couple easy weeks before the build up towards the world champs in Las Vegas begins. Race day rolled around and while I felt I had not recovered and absorbed the past 2 weeks training as much as I would have liked I managed to get stuck in and take out of the race what I needed to. There are actually two tropical storms over Mexico at the moment, Hurricane Ingrid on the Gulf Coast and Tropical Storm Manuel on the Pacific coast and while we are not in the worst of it, it is devastating to see what they have done to parts of the country. Portland's premier triathlon store. Following the race team, the shop, and Portland multisport racing in general. Monday, February 15, 2010. Big weekend in Tucson. Saturday was a hard 5 1/2 hour ride, with 13 mile Madera Canyon climb. Steady the whole ride with run off. Sunday 1:30-1:45 run at a pretty hard pace after 25-30 minutes. 90min - 2 hour ride in the afternoon. Tim O'Donnell got in town and proceeded to show us some major swim speed, nice to have another top athlete in camp.

I know I learned a lot from Cliff and the athletes there. Important for me is to keep that focus and recreate some of what we did there here in Portland. Training at the facility has seemed to work, as I felt much better than I expected on the bike. So now we rest this week, and get back to work. Great to be home.

As my month on the road draws to a close I reflect on the amazing places I have visited and competed in and I am really happy with my solid performanc. Ironman 70.3 Busselton / 2nd place. It has been a great week hanging out here in Western Australia with Kelly and her good friend Tamara who’s wedding next week in Bali we will unfortuna. Challenge Taiwan – 1st Place.
