Sanctifying Worship: Theology (and Practice) of Ordination
http://sacramentalnazarenes.blogspot.com/2010/08/unintended-but-apparently-necessary.html
Tuesday, August 03, 2010. Theology (and Practice) of Ordination. Thanks to everyone who offered wisdom and guidance regarding the question of “pulpit supply” in churches that practice weekly Word and Table. I have thought much about what each of you has said. It seems, however, that I have inadvertently raised a much bigger issue – one that is appropriate to be discussed on a Sacramental-Nazarene blog. That issue is, of course, our theology and practice of holy orders. So what is ordination? I wish not t...

Sanctifying Worship: Ready to Surrender
http://sacramentalnazarenes.blogspot.com/2011/02/ready-to-surrender.html
Tuesday, February 15, 2011. As a Christian and as a pastor, worship is important to me. How we worship, why we worship, when we worship, the ways we worship, and what/who we worship are all important to me. Yet, so often these things are not important to the others I am talking to. Often times when talking about worship with pastors and leaders the conversation is reduced to "How many were there? And "How moved were they? That we have confused worship and evangelism, and in an effort to be culturally.

Saturday, February 26, 2011. Worship and Sacraments: Q and A" with Brent Peterson. The last part of the previous video - this is where it gets fun! Feel free to discuss in the comments. I’m merely continuing my push backs here, but I did want to reemphasize that I enjoyed Peterson’s presentation and thought it was very refreshing in many ways. Brannon, Thanks for posting Brents workshop online. Perhaps more than anything my hope is that weekly eucharistic practice will do more to insure that preaching is...

Sanctifying Worship: "Disposing" of the Elements
http://sacramentalnazarenes.blogspot.com/2010/11/disposing-of-elements.html
Thursday, November 11, 2010. Disposing" of the Elements. Weird, I know.). I think it's a good thing to bat around, though - certainly something we have had some discussion about at Xenia Naz. What to do with the elements - the cup in particular - after communion? If you're like our church and use the little round wafers (the "catholic" wafers. It depends on where one is theologically on this. This reflects the theology of the Real Presence (in some form) in the elements. Those who hold this position ...

Friday, February 25, 2011. Rev Brent Peterson PhD on "Worship and The Sacraments". Here's part one of the video I shot of Brent's M11 session (which actually picks up about half way through the formal part of his presentation - I was about 20 min. late due to a lunch meeting). Any comments on this, other than unbridled support and agreement? Let's discuss. There's already been some lively discussion over at NazNet. What should happen in MY context, for example? Ordained elders because I am in the course ...
