Méretét jól jellemzi, hogy átlagosan 1 Terabit/sec forgalom megy át rajta (igen ez több mint 1024 Gigabit/sec) és csúcsidőben ez felmegy egészen 1.5 Terabit/sec-ig. BIX statisztika a World IPv6 Launch után. BIX-en átmenő IPv6 forgalmom a tavalyi World IPv6 Day után nagyot ugrott, de az idei World IPv6 Launch lényegében megfelezte azt. Eddig átlagosan 100 Mbit/sec sebességről 50Mbit/sec-re esett. Ez valószínűleg annak a következménye, hogy két vagy több nagyobb IPv6 forgalma bonyolító ISP már nem a BIX-en keresztül cseréli ki a forgalmat, hanem egymás között úgynevezett private-peering-et használva bonyolítják a forgalmat.
