My class schedule for February has allowed for more time to work on Prowl. It has been difficult to locate a distributor of plastics locally here in Roanoke, so I am waiting for a catalog from a plastic company to maybe get some plastic sheet material . A Fan-based Transformers costume progression blog. Sunday, August 2, 2015. Back assembly completed. Mounted the tires and riveted a couple more pieces. The torso assembly so far looks great with chest and hood temp attached. The hood will attach by the Jeep clamps on top of fenders, and by the strap clips I added above shoulders. The male clip is riveted under hood and the strap length is adjustable for fitting. I fitted a cover piece for over the vinyl strap clip. Continued on lower Leg fenders. All con...

http://www.projectprowl.com/2015/08/decals-boot-soles.html
A Fan-based Transformers costume progression blog. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Decals and Boot Soles. Received decals in mail today. Thank you FastDecals.com. The Army star decal is going on each fender. Larger Autobot decal is center hood. Smaller ones on leg fenders and shoulders. Last night I started cutting up a rubber welcome mat from hardware store, for adding some height to boot soles. Gorilla Glue was a bit messy so I will try contact cement next. Clamping was kinda awkward but worked.

Received ordered plastic shee ts from USPlastics.com. And a new cutting tool designed for cutting pla stic. Also received more nylon straps, Velcro. Elastic straps, and strap buckle s. A Fan-based Transformers costume progression blog. Sunday, March 3, 2013. Started on the base for feet. Took the seats from original PW car and cut in half . T. Hen noticed an interesting concept with the back rest flipped over, could pas s for a foot. Processed a few ideas in my head and came up with idea for using both parts of each seat as Foot bases. Going to use some rubber mat material for sole, great for traction, and maybe add some blocks to gain 6 to 8 inches in overall height.

A Fan-based Transformers costume progression blog. Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Worked on helmet tonight for about 3 hours. Started getting tired when doing details around eyes. Still have another block of clay if needed. Might make helmet neck base wider. When done I will do a final finish with a wet flat trowel tool for smooth edges . Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Fan-based Transformers costume progression blog. Wednesday, January 30, 2013. WEEK 2 Jan 11th - 18th. This is a torn apart camel-back backpack harness that I will be using as primary frame for torso parts to connect onto. Front grill with hood, neck area cut-out on hood. Car chassis and body sectioned apart easily once I cut each door out. You can also see where plastic foam partitions have been cut to fit inside hollow areas for filler and support. A Fan-based Transformers costume progression blog. Friday, April 5, 2013. Worked on the platform feet today. First I tried 6 1/2 inches tall with rubber sole and old pair of boots attached. The platform material is vinyl molding that is one inch thick, 3 1/2 inches wide and cut into ten inch pieces stacked. The first attempt was very unstable and difficult to walk around in.
