http://thecyclingsilk.blogspot.com/2015/04/team-townend-challenge-2015.html
Thoughts from a 3rd cat and vet racing and commuting cyclist. Wednesday, 15 April 2015. Team Townend Challenge 2015. On Saturday I will be repeating the ride I have done for the past two years in memory of Christian and Niggy Townend, who were so tragically killed in December 2010 when a coach drove into them whilst they were out riding in the Lake District. Roadpeace is a brilliant charity founded by bereaved relatives which works hard for road crash victims and campaigns for justice. Putting my own mon...

If you've got the chance to do something ridiculous then why not do it! Pendle 600km – Sat/Sun 13th/14th June 2015. June 19, 2015. She said I’d paid for my accommodation and I’d lose my money and all that preparation would be for nothing. Then she mentioned it to one of her friends, who said I simply needed to man up and get on with it, like a proper cyclist would. So there you go, I loaded up the car and drove up to Burnley. Not much I could say to that. The fells of the Pennines. And Trough of Bowland.

If you've got the chance to do something ridiculous then why not do it! Training picks up everywhere! June 9, 2015. Whilst I wait for my bath to cool down after tonight’s club chaingang and ponder as a result whether my legs are empty for this weekends Pendle 600, I thought I would update you on some recent happenings and events that are newsworthy. We are into that period in the year when races come thick and fast, that’s races of the long type! Trans AM bike race. Until then here’s a little Trans...

If you've got the chance to do something ridiculous then why not do it! TCR 2015 – It all starts in 11 weeks. May 1, 2015. Ultra endurance mountain bike rider Josh Ibbett is also back, 2nd last year with a still very impressive finishing time of 9 days 5 hours. With quite a few veteran riders returning and new challengers from far and wide globally it should prove to be a fascinating race. The finish list for last year can be found here. This years starters list is here. 2015 TCR provisional start list.

TCR 2015 – Its almost that time! | Paulbuckleyfollowingthelongroad

If you've got the chance to do something ridiculous then why not do it! TCR 2015 – Its almost that time! July 20, 2015. Over the last few weeks the training has tailed off and the focus has really been about final preparation and deciding what goes and what stays at home. Its not been that straight forward. It is a risk running bare bones but hopefully I’ve managed to strike a balance between what’s sensible but at the same time adventurous…well it is after all a race! Top tube bag under the saddle.

Thoughts from a 3rd cat and vet racing and commuting cyclist. Friday, 29 August 2014. Case Update: R v Wojcicki. Turning a corner? Taken from the reports of WalesOnline who have covered this story in detail). At around 8pm Mr Wojcicki drove his 3 ton minibus into the rear of Owain James, who was on his bicycle, causing him fatal injuries. The prosecution opened the case on the basis that Mr James was riding inside the white rumble strip. The positive things are that, unlike other recent cases. And the co...

The Cycling Lawyer: December 2014

Thoughts from a 3rd cat and vet racing and commuting cyclist. Thursday, 11 December 2014. Inquest into death of Michael Mason. I do not normally comment upon cases in which I am involved but this one is exceptional and I shall confine myself to (relatively) neutral observation upon evidence given in a Court open to the public. The Coroner then asked Mr Mason's daughter to give some evidence about his long experience riding bicycles. Although some witnesses queried and offered explanations as to why Mr Ma...
