I am a donor because. I donate blood because a donor saved my son's life. When my son Adam was born Oct. 31, 2000 he was born he had a very low platelet count and needed transfusions in order to sustain life. His platelets were low due to being infected with CMV at birth. He is now a healthy, happy boy (age 11) who loves life and is willing to do anything to help other people. This year (july 14th) he is planning his second RC show to donate even more! I am thankful to blood donors because. Where would they go? Who would take care of them? Then it happened on August 2 1996 I received a phone call from my transplant coordinator that a new heart was awaiting me. And then it hit me someone had died and I wished it had never happened for a life was lost and a family was going to give me a second chance I was getting a 25 year old heart that was now going to pump my blood. I am using 2001 as the starting point as that is the year we started using digital cameras. We traveled somewhat in the 1990s, to Hong Kong, Thailand and Israel in particular.
