An offbeat trekking destination in Bengal. The Dense forest of Garhpanchkot. A structure built at the top of Garhpanchkot - Now abandoned. I took everything from my bag whatever I had to eat. 'Parle-G' biscuits were thoroughly being enjoyed by the doggy and both of us shared a mixture of 'chana, mudhi, cheevda and badam' - a Bengali fast food. Delhi to Allahabad on CNG. My 'Green' Pilgrimage to Maha Kumbh. The 'Maha Kumbh Mela' at Allahabad gave me another reason for a long drive. After successfully convincing my boss for a leave for Friday, I had 3 full days in hand to enjoy the long drive on one of the smoothest National Highways of India - The NH-2 (also a part of Asian Highway-1). My car (Maruti Suzuki Zen Estilo) is fitted with a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) kit. So why not make the journey more economical and 'green'! In a larger map.

Lansdowne on two wheels. Friday, November 2, 2007. Lansdowne on two wheels. Lansdowne is the nearest hill station from delhi. It is 275 kms. ( approx. ) from delhi and it takes about 5 hour to reach there. Roads are very good, perhaps the route passes from UttarPradesh (UP) and contrary to the belief i found the UP roads very smooth. this was the biggest reason i managed to do lansdowne in 5 hours. I started early at 400 hrs from delhi and reached Kotdwar at 1000 hrs. Now Lansdowne is just 40 kms.

Thar desert on two wheels - LAST DAY. Tuesday, September 11, 2007. 1st April, 07. Ratangarh – Delhi. Via Sikar, Chomu, Shahpura, Gurgaon. Got up early. Left Ratangarh, the small beautiful town. We and our babe were now habitual of high speed at this highway. Kept on ripping and taking butt and photo breaks. Had lunch at a dhaba after crossing Shahpura on our pet NH-8. It was around 1700 hrs we were on ring road near Dhaula kuan. YESS! Finally in DELHI …. Back home. sweet home …. Trip metre - 2166 kms.
