http://debaeremaeker.blogspot.com/2015/06/rachels-baby-quilt.html
The travels of a pair of Canadian Bears (and their offspring) in an American World. Wednesday, June 24, 2015. When my friend Rachel told me she was pregnant with her third child one of my first thoughts was "i get to make her a quilt! She already had her other boys when i met her so I haven't had the chance to make her a baby quilt. And now i did! This baby was also going to be a boy and Rachel had a thing for chevrons, mustaches, and red and navy. I decided that a chevron baby quilt would be perfect.

The travels of a pair of Canadian Bears (and their offspring) in an American World. Sunday, May 3, 2015. Dignity Quilt for Shalom Manor. Last year the nursing home I used to work at asked me if I would make a Dignity Quilt for them. A dignity quilt is a quilt that is used to cover someone after they pass away and are being taken to the funeral home. This is part of the Death with Dignity movement among nursing homes and other long term care. They wanted this to be about 5 feet by 7 feet. Please follow me...

The travels of a pair of Canadian Bears (and their offspring) in an American World. Saturday, November 8, 2014. One of my aquafit class members insisted that i needed to enter a quilt into the Caldwell Visual Artist Competition at the local arts council. It cost $10 to enter two pieces of art in. I thought, "why not? You may remember this first one. Its not common for artists to allow their work to be touched while on display (ESPECIALLY quilts). I always want to. Oh and the NFS- is Not For Sale. As he f...

NorthernNorthAmerican Bears: February 2015
http://debaeremaeker.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
The travels of a pair of Canadian Bears (and their offspring) in an American World. Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Upcycled dress for Abigail. I decided to try upcycling for the first time. WE had this t-shirt of abigails that the graphic was coming off. So I cut off the top about 1 inch below the armpits. And made a tube of fabric using some remnants I picked up from hancocks. Yay- french seam (I also used a decorative stitch along the bottom hem. ). I thought it needed more- So I grabbed some trim.

First off- two baby quilts to be donated to Robin's Nest - Child Advocacy center. Our guild provides them with quilts they can use and keep for the physical examination. I love colouring fabric so when I saw this black and white tank top I knew I had to play with it. I just used fabric markers a coloured in the stars. I love to hear from you.

The travels of a pair of Canadian Bears (and their offspring) in an American World. Saturday, August 23, 2014. Let me tell you a story that my dad told my son. See that pond over there? See all the green stuff in the pond? Way more than in this photo as this was taken later). Do you know what that stuff is? Really, it is. Do you know how it got there? Martians come at night, once they know you are sleeping, and dive into the pond. There they shed a layer of skin which then grows into the algae. Dave and ...
