Cuerpo de Paz Panamá: Gross National Toughness
http://janellchristine.blogspot.com/2010/06/lesson-learned.html
Cuerpo de Paz Panamá. Sunday, June 6, 2010. I learned what it meant to contribute to Panama's gross national toughness last week. When I was a new volunteer, still fresh faced from training, I spoke with a veteran volunteer, and he shared his ideas about an innovative economic index that Panama could use to measure its riches in terms of its people's 'grit': gross national toughness. It would account for the sweat, blood, and tears shed daily in our communities. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Cuerpo de Paz Panamá: Tjä Toë
http://janellchristine.blogspot.com/2010/05/tja-toe.html
Cuerpo de Paz Panamá. Wednesday, May 26, 2010. A couple Thursday mornings ago, Ernesto and his grand kids led me up the hillside to his farm to collect almonds. We had been waiting for the harvest for months ever since the branches filled with pink blossoms late last year. We climbed the hillside passing his plots of pineapples, green beans, basil, peppers, and peanuts. Eventually we climbed above the fog and drizzle that enclosed our houses below. We will be updating regularly throughout the tour.

http://janellchristine.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Cuerpo de Paz Panamá. Monday, December 29, 2008. A ‘Chilly’ Christmas. I loaded my ipod with Christmas music and made paper red and green construction paper chains and paper snowflakes. My hut now looks like a second grade classroom. My neighbors tell me that they like my ‘flowers’ (the paper snow flakes). Because I’ve had several failed attempts at describing snow, I now just accept that compliment and say, ‘Thanks, I think the. Are pretty, too.’. One of the newest editions to the hood: Pinto.
