Thursday, January 20, 2011. The January that lasted for months. Everett and I were reflecting on the weeks that have passed since Christmas. We agreed that it seems like months ago that we celebrated Christmas. School started on the 4th, I think. It was SO long ago, I can't remember! Everett had his first orthodontic appointment, a week later, his second, and voila', now he has braces! Several days were spent in a fair amount of pain for him. Advil is a wonder drug, I'm tellin' ya'! Did I just say that?

I am feeling very grateful for dedicated school teachers everywhere! I have a short list of things I want to do.read this, watch that, go here (alone), go there (alone). SIGH. The summer started off with a trip to visit grandparents. I am sore. I am learning that I have some muscles that I didn't acknowledge before now. Ow! Everett celebrated his 12 th.

So today we made a very yummy plum cobbler, and I thought I would take a second and share the recipe. 1 1/2 cups sugar. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 8 cups sliced fresh unpeeled plums. 6 tablespoons butter or shortening. 2 cups all-purpose flour. 3 teaspoons baking powder. 1 cup milk Whipping (heavy) cream, if desired. Heat oven to 400ºF. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Serve warm with whipping cream.
