Ribery berjaya isi tempat ‘ayam tambatan’ Perancis.

Drinking During the Game: October 2014
http://drinkingduringthegame.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 October 2014. Three managerial appointments this week in the Championship that should make us reflect for a moment. So, whatever your opinion on Duchatelet's network model, let's be grateful that we have a manager who looks relatively comfortable in his role and performing at an acceptable level. I will gladly settle for another ten months stability. Links to this post. Wednesday will, no doubt, bring another lunking side down to try and dominate the physical contest and I am looking forward...

Drinking During the Game: May 2015
http://drinkingduringthegame.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, 28 May 2015. FIFA arrests at last. I am enjoying some sunshine in Spain but was delighted to learn of the arrest of seven prominent FIFA officials yesterday by U S and Swiss authorities for bribery and corruption. Links to this post. Tuesday, 12 May 2015. 15 released, no surprises. As anticipated, Charlton Athletic parted company with 15 players today, calling time on six first-team squad players and ending the Valiant hopes of 9 others. Other than those, Jack Mundell, Harry Osborne, Harry Gera...

Drinking During the Game: March 2015
http://drinkingduringthegame.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Once more into the Lion's Den. Depending on you point-of-view, the most anticipated or most dreaded fixture of the season is upon us. On 'Good' Friday we travel slightly further as the crow flies than Upton Park to play our south-east London rivals Millwall. Anyway, I was pleased to hear of a beam back and would much rather watch the game locally for £8, enjoy a relaxed pre-match drink and be free to leave for home at any point during the 90 minutes if I feel like it. I w...I sugg...

Drinking During the Game: January 2015
http://drinkingduringthegame.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, 31 January 2015. Charlton Athletic 1 v Rotherham United 1. Well we managed to score a goal but also managed our 15th draw of the season and, frankly, it was no less than the visitors deserved. On a final note, it was the lowest home gate for a Saturday game (14,447) and the second lowest all season. Links to this post. Wednesday, 28 January 2015. The signs don't look good. Yes, we did get Tony Watt and we have brought in a loan youngster from Spurs in the shape of Veljkovic but that is short of...

Drinking During the Game: Reflections on Florida
http://drinkingduringthegame.blogspot.com/2015/07/reflections-on-florida.html
Thursday, 30 July 2015. I am coming to the end of a hectic fortnight's family holiday in Florida. I ought to start by saying that I once travelled fairly regularly back and forth to the States as I worked for our North American division, although that was between 1997 and 2002. My last visit was actually ten years ago on a skiing trip to Beaver Creek in Colorado. And "big is better." A product of the progressively politically correctness regime in the US which is continuously being exported. The road sys...

Drinking During the Game: Comings and goings
http://drinkingduringthegame.blogspot.com/2015/07/comings-and-goings.html
Thursday, 16 July 2015. No, nothing revealing on the player front. To be honest, I am happy to be going and will miss nothing whilst I am away. A small squad visibly struggling with an increasingly frustrated looking Senior Head First Coach Manager who is looking like he will have to work miracles to avoid a series of opening league defeats and a struggling start. On the work front I can agree every day is a battle and miss the good old days. 16 July 2015 at 21:26. 17 July 2015 at 06:32.

Drinking During the Game: September 2014
http://drinkingduringthegame.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 September 2014. Norwich City 0 v Charlton Athletic 1. On rare occasions, and I mean rare occasions, you sometimes get a result that is not only a huge and pleasant surprise, but which also threatens to be truly significant in the grand scheme of things. We may just have got one of those results this evening at Carrow Road. Links to this post. Monday, 29 September 2014. O-le, O-le, O-le, O-le! We were fortunate with the weather and the organisation for getting to Gleneagles via Park and Ride a...

Drinking During the Game: In need of reinforcements
http://drinkingduringthegame.blogspot.com/2015/07/in-need-of-reinforcements.html
Monday, 13 July 2015. In need of reinforcements. A routine 2-0 pre-season at Welling wasn't enough to change the despondent mood of many. Igor Vetokele and Simon Makienok were both rested to protect injuries and it was clear that we can only field one first eleven and even then we had to have players playing out-of-position. Probably not the best time to ponder over the decision-making process that has resulted in us agreeing a hastily rearranged friendly at Bolton Wanderers? The hand of Duchatelet.

Drinking During the Game: August 2015
http://drinkingduringthegame.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, 29 August 2015. Winger the last signing? With the transfer window closing, Charlton have been dallying with Jermaine Pennant as a possible replacement and he has been about to sign for most of this week. Henry fits the Charlton bill whereas Pennant doesn't. Henry has youth on his side whereas Pennant doesn't. Henry comes with a clean nose, whereas Pennant doesn't. Henry should be affordable whereas I would be very surprised if Pennant was. Links to this post. Friday, 28 August 2015. We haven't ...
