Erik and Jessa Anderson! Eight years ago we were just two people who were living two lives as college students, both headed in very different directions. Today, we are two people living one incredible married life together, both working in Youth Ministry. In Modesto, CA, pursuing an adoption from Ethiopia and South Africa. And falling more and more in love with each other and the Lord as we discover the pursuit of life, love, and grace. The journey has never been easy, but the goal has always been set.

Monday, April 7, 2014. We made it. It may have been a little over a week ago and it may be that I have been too tired to even think about posting on our blog. But we made it. By the grace of God, we traveled over 9,000 miles, 23 hours, and 3 viewings of Frozen on the airplane to arrive back in Minnesota and into the arms of the people we love. We have so much to be thankful for. We are figuring out this new life one step at a time, but praising God for His unending mercies, faithfulness, and grace.

Friday, March 21, 2014. Yesterday we went to a botanical gardens-y type place. They also served wine, so I don't know what that qualifies as, but it was awesome. Back to our adventure. The gardens were big enough to need a map to walk around it. And since it seems that we have added a daughter to our family who is strong-willed, independent, and adventurous.she controlled the map. I should learn to trust more because even though the map was upside down, she seemed to know exactly where we needed to go.

Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Up Up and Away! Seriously. We can't believe that this day is here. 2 weeks ago, we woke up to a whirlwind of news, emotions, planning, and a lot of crying. Today/yesterday (I don't really know what day it is), we are sitting in the Paris International Airport, eating macaroons (I stress eat), waiting to board a flight that is going to literally change our lives forever. Either way, we wouldn't and couldn't be in this spot without a lot of you! So here we go. Up Up and Away!

Monday, August 29, 2011. Well Celia is now 1 month old! Time flew so fast! I still feel like we just got home from the hospital last week! I guess it went so fast because we were trying to get some what of a routine down. Now with 2 kiddos things are a little more difficult but we just adjust. Wednesday, January 9, 2013. First day of "School". Today was Taft's first day at "school" That is what we are calling it but it is actually a Mother's Day out program at a local church here in Geneva. I heard about it from some friends in the area and also my next door neighbor who works there. I wasn't sure how he would do because he is pretty shy and has not been around that many kids all at one time.but he did GREAT! Working on our "cheeeeese" He still doesn't smile : ) Showing off his new lunch box!

Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Taft turned 7 months at the end of July. July 31st to be exact. I feel like time is flying! Everyone tells you that you blink and your kids are all grown up and I am starting to believe them. I feel like I don't always notice how much Taft is changing till I take these pictures and look at them. He is getting so big! At his 6.5 month appointment he weighed 19.3 lbs and was 27 in long.WHAT? Look at that stinker! I hardly had time to snap the picture before. Can't go wrong there.
