The Art of Adaptation. A Window Into the World of One Woman with Cerebral Palsy. Posted in September 2009. Family dynamics: breaking away from the identified patient role. Waiting for December at the DMV. Today was my 32nd driving lesson. I have been taking driving lessons for just over a year under the guidance of the same instructor. Today, instead of prolonging my timeline, she told me I would be ready to get my license in December! The elephant in the room of my life. Cerebral palsy is my elephant in...

Life in the Passenger Seat | The Art of Adaptation

The Art of Adaptation. A Window Into the World of One Woman with Cerebral Palsy. Life in the Passenger Seat. This entry was posted on February 11, 2012 and tagged anxiety. So for now, my mom drives me where I need to go (mostly doctor appointments). I guess I am turning into Miss Daisy! I’ll admit, I never enjoyed driving. However, not having the option to drive seems disappointing, which translates into an interruption of progress, growth, and independence. What is life but a series of contradictions?

The Art of Adaptation. A Window Into the World of One Woman with Cerebral Palsy. Posted in September 2007. About The Art of Adaptation. Sometimes I wonder why I chose to write a blog about my physical shortcomings. I have always considered myself to be just like any other person and never perceived my personal identity through the lens of cerebral palsy. In fact, sometimes I considered it to be completely out of the picture. That is not to … Continue reading →. Follow TAOA via Email. Awesome Blogs I Write.

Helpful links for Lymies. My war against Chronic Lyme Disease. An end to my hermitage September 16, 2012. 8212; dingmanh @ 5:15 pm. I have stayed away too long. The PICC line is still in. Its been over five months with three IV med changes. As it turns out, I am allergic to Rocephin and most likely all other 3rd generation cephalosporins. Then I tried Leviquin and Azithromycin. No real progress to be found here. PS Glad to be back🙂. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. You are commenting...

Helpful links for Lymies. My war against Chronic Lyme Disease. Losing my super power March 27, 2013. 8212; dingmanh @ 9:28 am. I keep coming across this nagging feeling that I’m losing connection to my own insight. The closest I ever will come to a super power. Its fading because of my attempts to reconnect with the world. All the little everyday things we do, using up so much energy in those acts that I have come to feel distant from myself. Far left of center. I thought I had come to understand myself ...

DEMO REEL and ANIMATICS. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. CGMA - Environment Design - Week 2. This week our assignment was to do our own compositions, but lengthen the time spent on them to 2-2.5 hours per composition. I decided to mess around with some location ideas in a personal project of mine. The goal was to experiment with different lighting situations in value. I have not painted that much in value before so it's been interesting. Links to this post. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Links to this post. I am a...

The Art of Adam T. Hall

The Art of Adam T. Hall. Emergence (Black on White). Surrealist automatism is the practice of expressing the subconscious by allowing your hand to move randomly during the mark making process. This process uses chance and accidental mark making in order to free your hand from rational control so that the image produced is largely attributed to the impulses of the unconscious mind and acts as a revelation of an otherwise repressed psyche.
