My journey to completing a triathlon. What is a Sprint Triathlon? What is the Komen 3-Day Walk? The right clothes are crucial. For me, from head to toe, this includes technical shirts with cool max or dry weave, capri running pants or running shorts with liners [the capris also help with the runners knee], and ankle socks with that wick away moisture. My journey to completing a triathlon. What is a Sprint Triathlon? What is the Komen 3-Day Walk? Over the last year, I’ve discovered I like to run! It was a horrible experience. Although we trained with a running group, I didn’t really respect running and the discipline required. All I remember is hitting the wall at mile 16 or so and turning into an ogre. By definition, a triathlon is a multi-sport endurance event consisting of swimming, cycling, and running in immediate succession over various distances. A sprint triathlon consists of .5 mile swim, 12 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run. The sprint is a great introduction to the triathlon event. Why am I doing this? I needed a challenge!
