About a month ago we met with the speech therapist at the hospital and the dietitian to talk about switching Lilah over to pediatric formula because of her age. Pediatric formula contains different nutrients than baby formula that is more age-appropriate as they get older. However it is also more expensive. With this new formula now we can feed her four times a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner and I feed her one time after she's gone to sleep at night. A full year later. It's hard to believe it's been a full year since I landed in the hospital. This time last year I was doped up on magnesium. I don't remember much except that I wasn't really sure what was going on. I could not feel any of the contractions they were telling me I was having. I look back at those days in sort of a haze and yet there are bits and pieces that are as clear as day. I've spent a lot of time today thinking about that crazy beginning to being a mother. It has been a wonderful day.

A few days ago I had sent a log of the amounts and types of foods and liquids Lilah was eating at each meal and snack time. I just got an email back from the dietitian who is thrilled with the amount of calories that she is eating. Her goal is to reach roughly 1,000 calories daily for catch up growth.
