The Baptist Catholic: The First Divine Mercy?

http://thebaptistcatholic.blogspot.com/2010/04/first-divine-mercy.html

Sunday, April 11, 2010. The First Divine Mercy? I've been posting a lot about The Divine Mercy as described by Saint Faustina. It just so happens that today is the last day of the Divine Mercy Novina and is known as the Feast of the Divine Mercy (the Sunday after Easter). Well, I thought it would be interesting to note that I came across a passage in Genesis that spoke of the Lord's Mercy. This is the first time I ever noticed it stated in this way. I wanted to take a moment to point it out. 8 Look, I ha...

The Baptist Catholic: Stations of the Cross

http://thebaptistcatholic.blogspot.com/2010/04/stations-of-cross.html

Friday, April 2, 2010. Stations of the Cross. I have been aware of the Stations of the Cross for many years. I once travelled through Germany and found stations just like the one in the picture above that portrayed a scene from the Passion of Jesus (his suffering and crucifixion). First of all, there is no Mass at all on Good Friday, which is strange to me, because I thought Mass was everyday. I was wrong. The ceremony is actually what's called a devotion and the object of this devotion is to hel...Veron...

The Baptist Catholic: The First Baptist

http://thebaptistcatholic.blogspot.com/2010/04/first-baptist.html

Thursday, April 1, 2010. The first Baptist I had ever heard of was John the Baptist. John said "I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose." John was talking about Jesus of course. Soon after Jesus was baptized, he began his ministry. The question is usually asked to everyone at some point. The bible verse that prompts this question is found in John 3:16.

The Baptist Catholic: Olive Baptist Church

http://thebaptistcatholic.blogspot.com/2010/04/olive-baptist-church.html

Thursday, April 1, 2010. Olive Baptist Church was my second home as a child. I attended for almost 20 years. I sang in children's choirs and I attended church camps. It was like family at Sunday School and I was there every week to soak up as much as I could in bible verses. I said the prayer that day and meant every word of it. Brother Passmore then asked if everyone that said the prayer would come forward. This is always done with the same music playing in the background. "Just As I Am". Sight, riches,...
