The Barley Birder: It's getting late for ringing swifts

http://thebarleybird-er.blogspot.com/2015/08/its-getting-late-for-ringing-swifts.html

Recent Ringing Recoveries and Controls. Wednesday, 5 August 2015. It's getting late for ringing swifts. On Monday (3rd August) I popped down to a site at Lee-on-the-Solent to ring some Common Swift. Chicks. You may recall the story from last year, but if not that post is here. You may notice that it is nearly six weeks later than the broods I ringed last year, and that is the result of some quite bizarre events. That has been hanging around for a while, 2 Common Scoter. And 48 Mediterranean Gulls. Titchf...

The Barley Birder: Bird Ringing at Titchfield Haven - Early August 2015 update

http://thebarleybird-er.blogspot.com/2015/08/bird-ringing-at-titchfield-haven-early.html

Recent Ringing Recoveries and Controls. Friday, 7 August 2015. Bird Ringing at Titchfield Haven - Early August 2015 update. Despite my lack of posts on the subject the autumn bird ringing has been progressing steadily at Titchfield Haven, and when I say steadily I mean just that. Throughout July the numbers of birds ringed were low compared with last year, and the most noteworthy thing was that in that period we only caught one Grasshopper Warbler,. Was the next most numerous with over 20 new birds ringed.

The Barley Birder: July 2015

http://thebarleybird-er.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Recent Ringing Recoveries and Controls. Monday, 20 July 2015. Where has the last month gone? I can only apologise for what has been a month since my last post, which has in part been due to a new and very busy role at work, but also due to an extremely busy social calendar. In fact, things have been so busy that there was a period of seven days when I didn't even lift my binoculars, something I cannot remember happening before, and my camera has almost been mothballed. And single Great Spotted Woodpecker.

The Barley Birder: June 2015

http://thebarleybird-er.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Recent Ringing Recoveries and Controls. Monday, 22 June 2015. Terek Sandpiper - Pagham Harbour. For the third time this year, this evening I found myself birding at Pagham Harbour, in West Sussex for yet another rare bird. Yesterday news broke of a Terek Sandpiper. According to Birds of Sussex this is the fourth record for the County; the previous records were 1951 at The Midrips, 1969 at Church Norton and in 2008 again at The Midrips. There appears to be a bit of a theme here! Sunday, 14 June 2015.

The Barley Beat | Beer Travel

Craft Beer has always been my drink of choice. However, it wasn’t until the spring of 2013 that I really dove in and started homebrewing and exploring craft beer culture. It was one fall day that I read an article about “beer travelers” via All About Beer titled Cruising the Hoppy Highway. I’ve met some great people, had many a tasty pint and look forward to many more years of exploring new beers and breweries. 8211; Matt King. August 2nd, 2015. August 2nd, 2015.
