Herways of the East: March 2014
http://jakemelanieandfamily.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Herways of the East. Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Life as of Late. Spent a day in Philly with some friends. Rachel's winter piano recital. She started off a little rocky, but I was proud of her for pulling through and she finished fabulously. Her teacher almost took out the second song because she was having a rough time with it at her lesson.but I fought for it, and I'm glad I did. She has improved a lot this year and I'm really proud of her. She has a real love for it. Lily is now eating solids. Fun with...

Herways of the East: February 2015
http://jakemelanieandfamily.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Herways of the East. Thursday, February 26, 2015. Luckily it was a short flight, and dinner went well.the bus to the hotel was a nightmare. To save a little cash, I brought cereal and milk in my suitcase :). We hit the ground running with 4 parks in 2 days. All the kids did great with all the walking. Animal Kingdom safari ride. Cousins reunited. It is such a treat for us! Definitely one of the hardest things living so far away :(. Mt Everest ride. Rachel and Tommy loved it. Tommy's costume was better ;).

Herways of the East: October 2014
http://jakemelanieandfamily.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Herways of the East. Thursday, October 23, 2014. Grandma treated us to a Broadway in NYC. We are so very lucky! I couldn't find a babysitter for Lily so we ended up taking her with us. I was a little nervous that she would make noises and bother people, but she did fabulous. And the show was a hit, we all loved it and it was fun to hear all their favorite parts and lines afterwards. I like his style of rock climbing. Walking the beam with no fear. Ah Jake, he's such a fun dad. Friday, October 10, 2014.

Herways of the East: April 2014
http://jakemelanieandfamily.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Herways of the East. Friday, April 4, 2014. And attended a few of the events. This is on the Dinky train and "Einstein" was traveling on it and telling everyone about his life. The kids loved how he was "allergic" to socks and never wore them. This lady, Jennifer Berne, wrote a cute children's book about Einstein called "On a Beam of Light" and was signing books at the local toy shop. It was a decent day and Lily enjoyed her first time in the stroller outside (beyond the bus stop). I made these mint choc...

Herways of the East: July 2014
http://jakemelanieandfamily.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Herways of the East. Thursday, July 31, 2014. Rachel has really excelled in piano this year (which is good because it's costing me an arm and a leg) but it's been great to see her improve and how much she loves it. She got a little nervous when she learned she was going to be second on the program. I say it's better that way, so you don't have to sit very long with butterflies in your stomach. For the first time ever she is a little nervous to begin school again. Only half of her grade is going to th...

Herways of the East: January 2015
http://jakemelanieandfamily.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Herways of the East. Thursday, January 29, 2015. On a few Saturday mornings in the fall I took Rachel to the mall down the street where they have free kid's cooking classes. I can't remember where Jake was (actually, I'm pretty sure it was a bike ride ;) and managing these kiddos with lots of energy was a hopeless task. Here they were pretending to be mannequins. Here they are in the "great green room". Max, the king of all wild things. Phantom Tollbooth (one of Rachel's favorite books). This girl was pr...

Herways of the East: August 2015
http://jakemelanieandfamily.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Herways of the East. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Talked about and dreamed about for many years and started planning two years ago.getting everyone together at Rehoboth beach in Delaware. Jake's Pop used to own a beach house here and they frequented this very beach when he was growing up. So lots of memories here for the Herways. Everyone was able to make it with the exception of Jake's sister Nicole who was almost due with her first child. So in no particular order. Tommy LOVED having boys to play with.

Herways of the East: September 2014
http://jakemelanieandfamily.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Herways of the East. Sunday, September 28, 2014. Our second weekend with Grandpa. A quick stop at the potato chip factory. And then to the beach. We went to a museum that had artifacts from a real pirate shipwreck, which was really cool. The kids' favorite part was playing in the gift shop :). The real pirate treasure! Mommy, take my picture! On the way back to our hotel we decided to join one of Rachel's school friends at the drive-in to see the new Planes 2 movie. On Sunday we visited the JFK museum.

Herways of the East: Atlantic City
http://jakemelanieandfamily.blogspot.com/2015/05/atlantic-city.html
Herways of the East. Monday, May 11, 2015. My mom treated us to a little spring break getaway to Atlantic City. The kids LOVED the hotel, and we probably could have spent the entire time there. There's always way too much to do, so little time to do it! Lily was not too sure about the pool, the second day she slowly warmed up to it. She is a big fan of baths though. We then headed to the famous Steel Pier for some amusement rides. We timed it right! Good thing Grandma likes the teacups. Bleh! HahaI loved...
