Tales from the Stitchin' Side of Life...: Purse, bag, tote bag, and... oh look! Another purse!
http://stitchinsideoflife.blogspot.com/2011/08/purse-bag-tote-bag-and-oh-look-another.html
Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Purse, bag, tote bag, and. oh look! So I've been thinking about this sewing journey lately. I've had some very basic sewing skills for a couple decades now (you should have been around for my pillow-making phase when I was ten-ish! But it's only been over the past year that I've really focused on developing this talent. I like to practice new (to me) techniques on things like purses and aprons, before attempting them on actual clothing. Yeah for my memory! The purse in the front...

Tales from the Stitchin' Side of Life...: October 2012

Saturday, October 20, 2012. A Birthday Gift Accomplished. Maybe it's because I like to make my friends smile. Maybe it's because I'm always looking for my next sewing challenge. Maybe it's because I like getting cool gifts myself. Whatever the reason, I frequently find myself stashing ideas away - either on. In my creativity journal, or little notes that I inevitably lose - for things that I just HAVE to make for upcoming birthdays, rainy days, and holidays. I actually made it! I got the idea from these.

Tuesday, July 19, 2011. It's "Bow Wow Blankie" Time! About a week ago, I finished a small quilt as a gift for Liam's 2nd birthday. Liam is the son of Chris and Jennifer, good friends of mine. I would have posted this earlier, but I wanted to wait until after the quilt had arrived at its final destination in Reston, VA. I've received confirmation that it has been received, and is already being enjoyed, so now I'm able to share my little accomplisment! I used a pattern called "Bow Wow Blankie," by. I'll be...

Tales from the Stitchin' Side of Life...: The Bopple Ball Challenge!
http://stitchinsideoflife.blogspot.com/2011/07/bopple-ball-challenge.html
Sunday, July 10, 2011. The Bopple Ball Challenge! Since I had never seen anything like this before, I'll explain it as if noone has seen anything like this before. In other words, with a LOT of pictures! Introducing, the Bopple Ball! A good friend of mine, that I've known for over two decades (EEK! BACK TO THE SEWING PROJECT! As his name implies, he's a boy, so all the cute little girl outfits I'd seen were obviously out of the question. I was walking around. Because I was repeatedly shoving. The back e...

We're so rad!: I can read!
http://soradserads.blogspot.com/2013/07/i-can-read.html
Friday, July 5, 2013. When my grandma was on her death bed we all went to spend some time with her. We fed her ice, arranged her pillows, and sat and talked with her when she was able. Anyone in my family can tell you that my grandma made The. Best. Jam. Ever. Among other things (lasagne, pie crust, fudge.). Even though it has been just over 3 years since she died one conversation has been carved into my memory. It was between Grandma and my cousin Elna. G: (in a very weak and shaky voice) Read the box.

He spoils me, respects me, and basically puts up with my crazy. He actually enables that crazy! Gosh, I am lucky yo have him. And lets talk about his artistic ability.where did that come from? 8) sisters. I have the 2 ...
