All roads lead to design. Thursday, September 22, 2011. To a Great City. The sign to the will-call gallery at Castle Clinton, just paces from our first stop. To a Great City," the aptly titled second edition of Stillspotting NYC, in time for the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks (the first was in June, with artist Pedro Reyes. On a cool, crisp Sunday, a week after the somber 9/11 anniversary, my friend N. and I arrived at Castle Clinton. From the first, tentative steps into Labyrinth at the B...

DesignPassions: February 2011
http://designpassions.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
All roads lead to design. Friday, February 18, 2011. It's a Beautiful Day! After weeks of arctic cold and dirty snow, spring shows up and teases us all. Trees show off their very new, young buds, birds sing a bit louder through the night, and people shed their layers and welcome the thaw. This too shall pass, of course. It's still mid-February, after all. It all goes back to normal tomorrow. The seasons will change one to the other soon enough. Yes, I can. The change will happen soon enough. Sometimes an...

DesignPassions: May 2011

All roads lead to design. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall? But the real draw is the hall itself. Its acoustics are world renown and rarely duplicated (though many have tried—look up the many revisions of Avery Fisher Hall, the Philharmonic's current home), and its history enviable—Dvorak's beloved New World Symphony. Debuted here on December 16, 1893; Liza Minelli sold out 10 shows in 1979, setting a record held to this day. Read more about Carnegie Hall here. Links to this post.

I want Style: 30092011 ROAR...
http://i-want-style.blogspot.com/2011/08/30092011-roar.html
Everyone who knows me also knows about my strong affection for cats, dogs and little kids. As long as they don't whine or bark. In that case I kinda despise them. In fact I consider it great fun to talk to dogs and kids that I come across, especially if I don't know them. I don't understand why people think that this behavior is abnormal or annoying. I think it's a perfectly normal thing to do! Anyways, a couple of days ago I found this dress at Zara. Diesen Post per E-Mail versenden. 1 September 2011 um...

Shreds and Clippings: On the Street: Mexican Steak
http://shredsandclippings.blogspot.com/2011/10/on-street-mexican-steak.html
Wednesday, October 26, 2011. On the Street: Mexican Steak. Mexican steaks tend to be flat, thin and dry. Mexicans seem averse to anything that resembles a rare filet mignon, and for a time this worried the meat eater in me. But happily I came upon a restaurant just a few blocks from my apartment where American values are clearly championed in the carnivorous department. Two large, red neon signs in the window glowingly advertise Sirlone. Labels: On the Street. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
