Section 36: I Scored!
http://section-36.blogspot.com/2015/05/i-scored.html
Friday, May 15, 2015. June 8, 2000. I love Pedro games. I know. I’m not even close to being alone in this one. But, there’s a little bit of excitement in me every time I look at a scorecard and see his name on it. I know automatically that this game is going to be something special. Of course it was. But, that was Pedro Martinez. The hero of the game? I hate to do it, but it has to be Nomar. 0-4 from your #3 hitter is not what you’re looking for. Just like he did every game. Buy Low, Sell High. A neighbo...

Section 36: From the Pedro Binder
http://section-36.blogspot.com/2015/08/from-pedro-binder.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2015. From the Pedro Binder. 2005 Topps Postseason Highlights. It’s always nice to remember some past highlights during a long season. This card definitely mentions one of the best. As a longtime Manny Ramirez fan, I’m not going to complain about his inclusion on the card. His stats during that game certainly merit celebration. But, I do sometimes wish Pedro had gotten a solo card. Guess I shouldn’t be too greedy since he did already have one in this set. Well, That’s Over. 1 Carl Yas...

Section 36: Pedro Live
http://section-36.blogspot.com/2015/01/pedro-live.html
Thursday, January 8, 2015. With Pedro Martinez’s election to the Baseball Hall of Fame, I thought it would be fun to take out my scorebooks. And, like I did for DerekJeter. I found scorecards for 25 Pedro games in my collection. I’m going to stop right there for a second. 25 Pedro games? I had no idea it was going to be that many. How lucky was I to be able to get to that many games started by the best pitcher in at least a generation? You know how Peter Abraham. Those numbers are pretty dang good, eh?

Section 36: From the Pedro Binder
http://section-36.blogspot.com/2015/05/from-pedro-binder_18.html
Monday, May 18, 2015. From the Pedro Binder. Focus What exactly is focus? Something that’s clearer? Something that’s more important? If the point of Focus is to highlight a player, isn’t that the point of every card? To focus on the subject player? If you’re not focusing on a player I don’t think you’re doing a very good job with the card. It’s just another card. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What people are reading this week. Section 36: Wantlists
http://section-36.blogspot.com/p/wantlists.html
Here are the cards I'm currently looking for. If you can help me out, let me know. My main focus is the base cards from the Topps family of products. So, that's all that is listed here. That doesn't mean I don't want the others. It just means I'm pretending I have focus and restraint. PC - Pedro Martinez in Red Sox Uniform. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Section 36: From the Pedro Binder
http://section-36.blogspot.com/2015/07/from-pedro-binder_16.html
Thursday, July 16, 2015. From the Pedro Binder. 2004 Topps American League ERA Leaders. Is it possible to forget how good Pedro Martinez was? Not really, of course. But, I do sometimes forget how good he was for how long he was. His best seasons were so off-the-charts amazing, that I tend to be underwhelmed by the years where he was merely dominant. Then I look at this card, and see him sitting on top after leading the league in ERA during the 2003 season. Really? No wonder he’s in the Hall of Fame.

Section 36: Red Sox A-Z: M is for…
http://section-36.blogspot.com/2010/01/red-sox-z-m-is-for.html
Thursday, January 21, 2010. Red Sox A-Z: M is for…. Martinez, as in Pedro. Scalpers had it easy. It didn’t matter who the opposing team was. It didn’t matter who the other stars in the game were. It didn’t matter who the opposing pitcher was. If Pedro Martinez was on the mound, that’s all that mattered. Pedro made it a must-see game. If Pedro was pitching, you scheduled your day around the game. I’ve never seen anything like it. How much better than everyone else was he? The Red Sox have had three other ...

Section 36: Collecting the Sox: Pedro Martinez Salsa
http://section-36.blogspot.com/2012/03/collecting-sox-pedro-martinez-salsa.html
Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Collecting the Sox: Pedro Martinez Salsa. Maybe I’m weird. OK. I’m definitely weird. But, when I look at something like this, I immediately assume nobody actually bought these to eat the salsa. Right? That would be my concern. Maybe it would work. However you slice it, this looks like a great Red Sox collectable. It’s definitely a quick conversation starter. Does anyone have any jars? Anyone ever eaten the salsa? Section 36: Just like the Old Days
http://section-36.blogspot.com/2009/10/just-like-old-days.html
Friday, October 30, 2009. Just like the Old Days. Once again, Pedro Martinez was on the mound. If it wasn’t already, the World Series Game 2 was instantly appointment television again. Men at first and second, with nobody out late in a close game, and he’s bunting three times? Not exactly all that valuable if you ask me. Isn’t he supposed to own the postseason? Is that the ice water in his veins or his calm eyes telling him to give himself up at a crucial time? He just gave up! Buy Low, Sell High. Well, ...
